Mini storm delivers a fun day for my friends and I. Still waiting for our first large storm.
had a solid day checking out the the Rattlesnake Mountains near Snowbowl,MT.
Trying to find some stashes in the backcountry before high pressure wreaks havoc.
forescast called for up to 10 inches overnight, we got a whopping 2. Still had a jolly old time.
Skiied a couple laps on lolo peak sunday may 25th....despite sticky snow and a broken dynafit heelpiece I had a terrific day!!
doing summertime things to numb my brain until shred season
Had the day off from work to vote, so I went skiing. Weird snow, bad viz, bad ankle, bad binding, shark fins everywhere. pretty much a perfect day!!!!
couple dumb gopro shots from yesterday messing around on carlton ridge
Im ready for real skiing, but messing around on Carlton Ridge has been keeping me happy.
hiked up hillz and skied decent snow and some variable weird snow. Really fun to get some sun and good cardio for my fat ass.
Things have been looking pretty shitty and depressing out here in western Montana, so when I got the invite to Cooke City I was like braaaaaappppppp. My gopro failed on two of the days; apparently you need to charge them at night and not just get wasted. Thank you Cooke City for reminding me that winter is still happening. I will definitely be heading back to Brappppp City next year.
Toured a little bit last week and found some decent stuff that was not sun/wind fukked. Corn skiing has now taken over with no storms on the horizon.
some stuff from our last decent dust on crust storm a couple weeks ago. Temps hitting 60 this week things are gonna get weird.
I've been drooling over the Mission Mountains since I moved to Montana and yesterday I finally got up there. Despite some mild bushwhackage and variable snow it was a great day to preview the vast potential of this visually stunning range. I will be returning soon...
Its crunch time. I have to join society again soon and the snowpack is bleeding away rapidly. So we rallied north to Glacier National Park's east side to look for some wintry turns and get out of the rain. Turns out they are hurting for snow too, but we found some fun. Can't wait to come back here during a normal winter.
The Bitterroots got a surprise storm last night. I was so excited this morning I forgot my poles, so I procured a sweet skinningstick/selfiestick.
still lots of jolly good times to be had in western Montana, you just gotta be willing to get really high.
Extreme gnar soft shell skiing is about being super dialed. That means getting to the trailhead by lunch, wearing silly hats, eating shit flavored elk infused bars, and letting everyone know that you are sooooooooo Dynafit.
Just slogging around some more new areas to try and find the goods.
The Going to the Fun road opened in GNP. We tooled around and did a lot of short fun laps. We even had a chance encounter with a newschoolers celebrity.
