Competition Season is Over. WSI Slopestyle 'Finals.'

Resorts are closing and it's time to put the jumps and rails away in that old shed where they keep the moguls. Competition season is done, and for a small bit of time we can escape words like training, Olympics, and amplitude. We survived the Olympics, and save for a few blown knees and blown medal dreams the sport of skiing didn't implode, and the man didn't steal our souls.

West Coast Session 8 continued today at Mt. Hood with an all-day session in the terrain parks of Timberline Ski Area. Even with four days of uninterrupted film and photo shooting on the schedule, the hungry WCS crew wasted no time getting down to work on the first film day of the session.

World Ski Invitational: WSI Slopestyle Qualifiers

WSI kicked off today with the slopestyle competition. The day opened early with practice and moved on to two elimination heats to thin out the pack. The top five skiers from each heat will join six pre-qualified competitors in the final.
