The film is a ski and snowboard film about mental health. Directed by John Padilla, who lost his 15-year old brother to suicide, this breakthrough film is the first of its kind to interview skiers across the “Suicide Belt” in the Rocky Mountain Region of the United States.

Mountain in My Mind returns with their third annual ski film about mental health in the mountains, Mountain in My Mind 3! The crew, which features New Zealand Olympian Benni Harrington and more, added some new names this year including street skier Brennan McClean, halfpipe and slopestyle skier Connie Brogden, and former freestyle mogul skier Lexi Wright in addition to interviews from Teton County Search and Rescue, Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrollers, and more. The crew also expanded its production and editing team and added the esteemed editor and drone pilot, Ben Kaden.

The film gathers a variety of industry insiders’ takes on topics such as suicide, depression, anxiety, addiction, substance abuse, trauma, first responder trauma, survivors guilt, therapy, and much more. The film aims to provide viewers with advice for handling life’s toughest moments with a special lens of mountain and snowsports enthusiasts. The crew got together in the remote town of Cooke City, Montana and shared a cabin for 10 days. They used sleds to access some of the best terrain Montana has to offer and the film features pow skiing, backcountry jumps, backcountry freeride, halfpipe, street, and resort skiing at Grand Targhee and Mammoth.
