After a season full of travel restrictions, not optimal snow, and a series of injuries, the last couple weeks of the season went off in Colorado. Riding at my home hill Arapahoe Basin and chased around by Ian Zinner, we put a couple days worth of footage together capturing the height of spring skiing. Can't wait to do it all again!

Words by Arapahoe Basin "Spring skiing at it's finest, with Ray McDermott last season."

What a year... weirdest winter I can remember. Cut Short is a montage of some of the best days and sessions from the 2020 season. There were lots of good days filled with awesome skiing and friends. Here is just a bit of it that I was able to get on camera.

During the snowy month of January 2020, a group of friends embark on a journey to the wild expanses of Eastern British Columbia. Little do they know of the fun and excitement waiting for them. This is a tale of great skiing, lots of hours in the car, food fights, boot packs, snow and most importantly friends skiing together. Also Flylow kept us dry and warm on our adventure, so check them out if you need some sick gear!

Thanks to my sponsors for helping me keep sliding downhill: Faction Skis, Giro, Trew Gear, and Swany Gloves.

The Japanese Alps are a pretty special place, the combination of culture, snow and terrain is so unique it almost doesn't seem real. My friend Daniel and I booked plane tickets the moment we realized that our winter in Colorado wasn't going to materialize into much. We headed for the Japanese Alps, and more specifically a place called Myoko Kogen. It was so much better then we expected, and so much worse. After skiing some of the deepest snow of our entire lives, we got days of rain and terrifying avalanche conditions. There were wet slabs ripping to the ground through a 3 meter snowpack around every corner. Right before we left, Myoko got pounded by yet another insane storm, while the sky went blue and the snowpack stabilized out. We had an amazing time, and I hope you can enjoy our video as much as we enjoyed our trip!

Over the 2016 new year I had the opportunity to travel to the northern island of Japan to do some skiing. Great trip with great snow and great people, here is a short GoPro recap of my venture to the land of the rising sun.
