Dec 2012 - 3.1K views

A group of skiers in Western Montana chase the snow around the state and ski whatever they can. This episode follows them as fall changes to winter, and the ski opportunities arise. Thanks to Henry Hawkins, Dillon Jenkins, and Rainbird Visuals for the help with this. Also thanks to Patrick Kirkley for the logo work! Trimmings: Episode 3 "Our Backyard"

by JAHrig
Apr 2013 - 636 views

This episode follows Montana locals getting out and exploring the vast wilderness that is just outside our back door. Montana has so much terrain, and so few people to get out and ski it, so the choices are endless if you are willing to put on those skins and break a sweat. Hiking into a zone is a completely different experience then you would get from riding a chairlift and the satisfaction after working hard to get up something and then being rewarded by fresh, untouched turns down is a feeling unmatched. This is a story about real people earning their turns and enjoying every minute of it. Sometimes you have to leave and go experience another place to refuel your love for your home. This January the crew decided to get out of Montana and headed North to B.C. and spent some time around Nelson, and at Fernie Wilderness Adventures Cat Skiing. Trimmings: Of A Montana Beginning

About a year ago we put this together for the NSTV Pilot Project contest. Doing this just for fun we were suprised to find a great response and were stoked to end up getting 2nd place in the contest. This inspired us to keep up with the series and we went on to make six episodes over the season and are coming back with a season two! I never did throw this up on Newschoolers other then for the contest so I thought for our "year anniversary" I would put it up for the publics viewing pleasure again. Watch out for us this season as we explore the great state of Montana!

Jake Fagrelius- A Season Cut Short

by JAHrig
Jul 2013 - 1.9K views

Jake's ski season this year was cut in half by an ACL injury this January. Although we did not get to follow through with most of our plans, Jake was still able to stack an impressive collection of footage during the few months in which he was able to ski. He may have missed the heart of powder season here in Montana, but he has been recovering from his therapy and counting down the days until he can strap on the skis again. Watch out next season, Jake is set on coming back with a vengeance. Enjoy these highlights of Jake filmed between the months of November and January. Big thanks to... Trimmings: Episode 6 "Altoona Ridge Lodge"

by JAHrig
Aug 2013 - 263 views

Altoona Ridge Lodge is a backcountry hideaway located in the Flint Creek range in Western Montana. All the resorts were closed and the spring weather was melting the snowpack rapidly. We took off to Altoona Ridge Lodge and took advantage of the stashes of snow they had left. From skinning up the remaining snow lines, to building jumps and jibs, and just enjoying life in the mountains, Altoona Ridge Lodge is the place to be. for the Trimmings crew. Andy, Chris, and the rest of the amazing staff made sure we had everything we needed for an all-time season. There are not many places you will find that are quite like this one. A true hidden gem where the people are friendly, the snow is amazing, and good times are sure to be had. If you do find yourself in this corner of Montana during the winter, this is one place you should not forget to stop.
