We headed out to Emerald Pools for the day. Met some cool kids with a slackline, and the South Shore kids showed them how its done! EP: 3 is coming soon!
Growing pains is a new web series, merging digital cinema, music, and life in Tahoe into one. The name Growing Pains evolved from our feelings about our crafts and what it means to us. Were a group of young kids from Tahoe looking for our chance to find out what life really is. Were growing out of the cliche world of action sports and creating our own styles and exploring new tricks. In comes the ?pain? part of the name, you can?t experience new things with a little bit of trouble on the way. From injures to broken equipment, it may be the ultimate reward, but you have to be ready to get your ass kicked. In the words of Andreas Fransson: ?When you leave what you know, you are widening the reality you live in and thus widening your own consciousness. If we feel safe everyday, we aren?t really living; We?re only repeating what we know. Living, for me, is expanding one?s own reality as far as possible.? Growing pains will take you from the park, streets, and mountains. Showing the process of this group's ability to expand reality.
Enjoy!
Big thanks to parents, friends, and the companies who continue to support our vision.

On April 1st I had a freak ski accident that left me in the hospital and internally bleeding. I was lucky to have the bleeding stop and head home. But the doctors telling me I could not use my Gimbal for up to three months crushed me. These are shots I collected during the past ski season. It's a reminder to myself that I had an amazing season regardless of my accident. That better days are on the horizon, but I need to focus on healing and come back stronger than before.

The Tahoe ski season has ended, it has been bittersweet. The drought in California left our resorts without snow for a good part of the season. Everyone involved in growing pains would like to thank those who put their utmost effort into making this season even possible. From snow farming, to extensive snowmaking techniques, your efforts kept our spirits alive while in a time of depression.

I know I stole the song from The Recruitment! Calm your tits it's a cool song!
I moved to SLC this year to ski and learnt some new shit. I'm a filmer so this the first time I've posted an edit of myself. Just all the insta bangers I got this year put together.
2013 was filled with client shoots, many ski days, not so many powder days, and so many fun experiences with some of Lake Tahoe's up and coming athletes. I wanted to sneak in some spoken words that resembled what cinematography means to me and why I chose to do it. Ansel Adams describes it perfectly "The camera cannot express the human soul, but maybe the photographer can" I set out on a life time of cinematic art about a year and a half ago. All I can say is that you can expect bigger and better, I want to strive to be the best cinematographer I can be. After my first season of dedicating entirely into filming the progression and story's of young free skiers, some days I was on top of my film game and others I wanted to quit and beat everyone I was filming. I made it out successfully and was able to make a short demo reel to show my best shots of the season. Bigger and better is to come! Pineapple express hit and left the place in 5 inches of rain, on the 19th Tahoe will get hammered with 4-5 Feet. With moral as low as the snow levels in Tahoe, we traded in the jackets and mittens for hoodies and sunblock. The High Roller terrain park crew has been killing it at Heavenly and making due with man-made snow during the last 6 weeks of sunshine. In loving memory of Dana Benedict ajmarinophoto.com
After a trip to Park City, Utah we headed back home to shred Heavenly for a few days or like the rest of March. Thanks to Mountainsmith! Filmed by: AJ Marino, Todd Benedict. Edited by: AJ Marino ajmarinophoto.com
