The Virtika Signature Jacket is a pretty cool jacket that I believe functions very well towards me needs as a skier. It has many pros, and a couple cons of which I will touch on in this review.
GOOD:
This thing is pretty baggy by most standards and to me, that is a huge reason why I bought it. If you're tall and want a tall jacket, this should be a strong contender. I'm 6'3 and XLT is plenty tall enough not to mention no other jacket I've owned has matched that. Another aspect of it's fit that I feel noteworthy is the hood as it fits well over-top of a helmet but its't so large as to be considered too 'massive' just for streetwear. A second cool aspect is how the sleeves completely zip off leaving you with a pretty cool vest. Not to mention the under-arm vents keep you cool for hike sessions and warm days.
BAD:
Depsite loving this jacket I can still come up with a couple of small details that I did not particularly like. The first being how about 2 months into usage the drawstring for the hood snapped. I was able to tie it back up but I believe Virtika needs to look into re-engineering that aspect of the jacket with a more durable cable. The second con to this jacket was the peeling fabric around the small virtka emblem on the upper chest. There is a cut-out in the jacket where the Virtika logo is shown in an underlayer colour but unfortunately in both the jackets and pants its known to peel.
Overall this jacket is pretty killer and I would recommend it to anybody who struggles to find tall sizing, is looking for something warm, and wants something to wear in a variety of conditions.
