As the season continues I will continue to update this review. So I only have one day of skiing on these boots, but I am already very impressed. The Cochise is designed to be a burly all mountain boot for the resort rippers, with the capability to head uphill when nature calls. I really believe the Cochise fits the bill, and I will be testing them both with tech gear and normal alpine gear this season
The extra range of motion in this year's boot is pretty awesome, very comfortable in walk mode and did a tiny hike. One thing worth mentioning is that the cuff and lower boot lock together using a metal buckle, meaning that staying in "ski mode" is not dependent on a plastic locking mechanism. These boots are stiff, more stiff than the salomon ghost max 130 and the Lange RX 130. The internal volume was tweaked a little this year, with lower internal volume and more defined heel pocket, and I have no complaints so far.
Overall I was torn between the Ghost 130's and The Cochise, but the Cochise just feels like a much higher quality boot and the stiffness is perfect for a guy my size, (6'1'', 205lbs)
