Review:
This year Julbo recognized it's past with the revival of two of it's most popular and historically important pairs of Sunglasses, the Cortina and the Megeve. These pairs combine the classic 1980s design with 30 years of technological advances into two great pairs of glasses.
See my profile for a review of the Megeve.
Optics
One of Julbo's biggest strengths is the quality of their lenses. As shown with their goggles, Julbo has made lens quality an absolute priority above all else and it shows. Images are crystal clear and the Spectral 3F hold up in the brightest sun and glare.
Style and Fit
Despite what you think of style from the 80s, there's no doubting that Julbo nailed their revival here. The matte plastic, colour schemes, straight top, and slightly pointed corners all fit right with the era and whether or not your into that, I think they look great!
In terms of fit, the lenses themselves are fairly large so they sit just a little bigger than something like your classic Ray Ban. That being said, the arms are small to medium size in both length and width. I enjoyed the snug fit, but someone with a large head will probably want to go with a larger pair.
Finally, the frames are slightly curved inwards, which is great for reduce glare. I wore these on the Whistler Glacier and didn't find myself squinting like with other pairs.
Overall impression
If you're into 80s style and quality optics then you'll definitely be happy with these. Definitely great sunglasses.
