Contrary to my review a year ago, these pants have changed quite a bit for the 2014/2015 season.
Performance
I loved the previous year's saga pants and they were my favorite pants ever. The material's changed a bit and they're more.... smooth feeling (plastic like) which makes it seem a bit more waterproof I guess. They're 15k/15k this year though which is a step down from the 20k/20k of the past. I haven't gotten wet yet though so it must not be that much of a difference haha. They're super lightweight, and definitely more of a shell in contrast to previous years as there's no more fleece lining the inside (big bummer for me, but maybe a godsend for others who thought the ones of old were too hot?)
Design
I got the reaper's again so they're all black. The zippers are placed better than the previous years, which is a big plus for me (horizontal rather than vertical) as I tend to forget and leave the pockets open which led to a lot of stuff falling out in the past. Simple looking design (black with white zippers) and the material of the pants looks really cool and heathered.
Fit
The pants fit baggy and that hasn't changed, but not overly so. I fit a Large perfectly, and an XL if I wanna go super baggy (I'm 5'11 and have a size 32-33 waist).
Durability
A bit of a step down, as I've had more tears than I had on my old pants. That's probably due to them becoming more of a shell though. They definitely aren't as durable as the previous years at the seams, so I'll still be rocking the old ones for urban and stuff but I'll definitely be wearing these for crushing groomers and stuff.
Overall
The old ones were my favorite, and these seem to be an entirely new pant. They look super sweet though, I'll give them that, but I think these are more geared towards the spring and early season shred than the year's past. I'll definitely be wearing these when the sun comes out and there's slushy laps all day.
