The Patagonia Triolet is a hardshell jacket with a 3-layer goretex construction. This product includes a fully waterproof shell and harness compatible pockets. This is the first jacket that I have found that is able to accommodate my long arms, and the jacket is just roomy enough to have many layers underneath. The harness compatible pockets are perfect for climbing as well as long trips with backpacks when using the hip strap, as everything stays accessible.
I bought this jacket to be used in a wide range of activities such as; ice climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and winter expeditions. I also hope to use it as a heavy duty rain coat during the summer months. So far I have used it for ice climbing and skiing and it has worked beautifully. The armpit zips are super easy to open, the pockets have kept everything dry and the hood has kept me happy in windy weather. During ice climbing the sleeves never slipped when making big moves and my arms where always nice and dry. While skiing this jacket is only laking a snow skirt and when layering right this is not a problem. A nice trim style with lots or reach makes this jacket super clean for all mountain skiing. It comes with many different colour options including; black, purple, blue, and two different reds. The Triolet also features two adjustable pull ties one on the waist and another for the hood, both of these will keep you skiing in the wettest and windiest conditions.
Of course because this jacket comes from Patagonia it is on the expensive side of jackets, but if you are spending most to almost all of your time outside it is worth the purchase.
