This is one of the most durable variants of the telescoping gopole I've used.
The other two I've tried have snapped on me while in my backpack or doing other activities.
We received the metal version of the pole which isn't super heavy, but heavy enough to just feel solid all around. The extra weight really helps with the stabilization, and it's much better than handholding the gopro.
Retracted, the length comes in at 17 inches, and fully extended it goes to a whopping 40 inches. There's no play in the pole once locked, which is really cool as it holds strong even when you hit something with it (swordfighting is probably okay and it'll probably snap any poles that are getting too close to you)
like all gopoles it has a gopro mount on top which makes it easy to replace the gopro, or turn the point of view around on yourself.
The only one gripe about it ( a common gripe with these types products) is that I wish you could replace the top mounting point, as it's plastic I'd like to be able to replace it if it breaks. Then again, it hasn't broken so maybe my concern is unfounded. All in all, a nice piece of equipment that could also double as a billy club should you need that feature for some reason.
