The quest max 130 is salomon stop of te line freeride boot. The boot is based off the ghost/max shell and features full 360 custom shell. Out of the box the boot is a 98mm last with a low instep. It is one of the smallest freeride boot fits available out of the box. However with custom shell the shell can expand a lot. I had feet which were 12mm wider then the starting width fit well with some work. You need a good shop to fit these boots but really this is the case with any top end boot.
The boots ski well they are mid stiff. The custom shell does soften the boots slightly so think of them more along the lines of a 120. The walk mode is simple and easy to use.
Overall these are a great option for a narrow foot.
I went from the SPK pro to this boot. The last starts out at 98 and is suppose to get up to 104. If that was true, I think it would have worked out a lot better. However, I couldn't get the boot to fit anywhere near 104. It was a bad fit from the beginning.
Other than that, my only issue is that sometimes after big drops, I'll find myself back in walk mood (not cool). Flex goes from ~120 (even though its a 130 boot it doesn't ride that way) to nothing.
