I tried these skis for a couple of runs while touring in the Chic-Chocs in Quebec last winter. Therefore, I cannot attest the durability of the ski.
The conditions where as good as it gets in eastern Canada: somewhat heavy pow. But pow nonetheless. And a decent amount (about a foot and a half, or 45 cm).
I have to say, climbing with that ski proved extremely easy thanks to its extreme light weight.
On the other hand, that lightness caused much instability. I am a pretty heavy skier (6 feet 4/ 200 pounds, 198cm / 88kg) and I tend to charge hard, and the Zealot didn't quite provide...
I usually ride 2012 S7's in the pow and find them much more stable and find they have better floatation and versatility than the Zealots.
If you're willing to sacrifice performance for an easier ascent, this ski is for you. Otherwise, steer clear.
The design's pretty fugly too. (just my humble opinion)
