Fit/Comfort
The inside consists of individual finger holes, and is made of a super comfortable material. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the inside of the mitt. I have never worn mitts skiing before, because I like the freedom of gloves, however I have converted to using these mitts full time. I consider my hands to be average size, and the fitting on the Saga mitts was definitely a little big. Average to big sized hands would fit comfortably in a medium.
Warmth
These mitts are incredibly warm. They block the wind and cold extremely well, well enough that they should not be worn on warm days, or for long hiking because your hands will sweat. For the average winter day (-8 to -10, Celsius) they are perfect for keeping warm. The coldest I was able to test them at was -19, -23 with the wind chill, and my toes were definitely cold before my hands. As for waterproofing, I have found the glove to be pretty good under cold conditions, not letting a lot of water in. However for drying, I found it to be pretty difficult to get the gloves to dry fully (overnight) by just being hung up. Most of the dampness inside the glove is a result of sweat. It will be interesting to be able to test the waterproofing on a slushy day, if it is not too warm to wear the mitts.
Durability
So far, I have used the gloves for around 6-7 days in the park and a few days in the backyard, and they have held up pretty well. The palm is leather, and it does the job at keeping that part of the glove together.
However, at the top seam, it has cracked and separated slightly, not letting in any water or affecting the performance of the glove, I was just surprised to see that area split.
Overall, would definitely recommend this mitt for comfort and warmth.
Was looking online and I saw these gloves and they looked pretty sweet. I was super hyped to get them for Christmas and I couldn't wait to try them out. I took them on a -20 degree celsius day and they were decently warm, no complaints considering they're a pretty light-weight glove. The thing that I began to notice, was the low quality of the "leather" on the front of the mitt. After only one use it was already cracking and flaking off. Not only that, but the front of my (koolaid green) coloured mitt was turning a blackish colour.
If you like doing grabs or are looking for your mitts to hold up, I would not recommend. However, they are very stylish.
