Overall
Great summer helmet for people with big heads (I use the XL). Works awesome for my longboarding adventures and I will update this later with comments on its performance while Mountain Biking. I have looked forever for a decent summer helmet and I got this off SAC for a steal and have been happy ever since.
I would likely buy this helmet again at its current retail price of $60 pending it absorbs direct hits well. I havent fallen yet to know that result.
Performance
So far so good. I haven't taken any falls yet (and if you do you should replace the helmet due to the mold style) but the performance has been great so far. Venting works well to keep the head cool and the fit is really nice and secure feeling. When I'm longboarding, I won't bomb big hills unless I have this helmet on because I feel that much safer with it.
Design
Pretty solid design. maybe a couple more vents on the side would help. I haven't ridden my mountain bike yet with this so I'm not sure how well it will work for that.
For skateboarding/longboarding though its awesome.
Value
Cheapest I have seen it online is 60 bucks and I got it off SAC for 25 so yeah, awesome value. With this knowledge though I'd probably pay 60 for it since its so hard to find a nice summer helmet in XL that doesn't make you look like Bomberman. I'd buy again for sure.
Fit
The XL fit like an XL finally. Only problem is that the visor looks kind of ridiculous since its so small and the helmet is so big. Its ok though because you can take that insert out and just put a normal one in. Thats what I have done and its fine now.
Durability
Handles the everyday wear and tear of skateboarding. I haven't taken a fall with it though so I'm not sure about how well it cushions direct blows yet but I'm pretty confident about that seeing how it has kept up for far.
Overall
this should really be like a 9.5. because of the liner. but without the liner, and a different hat underneath, this is by far the best helmet i've ever worn. it fits both my crowbars and my wisdoms great, with the strap both over and under the helmet. goggles fit without the helmet strap. even the wisdoms, yes. if you're looking for a helmet, i would reccomend this to everyone. it's not a hardhat like the baker or the macon, either. just like the other snow helmets out there. also has the versitility of the skating, not just on the snow protection.
Performance
uses zip-mold tech, and it's got lots of ventilation. not much to say, it protects your dome like a helmet should.
Design
incredibly light. very well constructed, minimal seams. it's lighter than a 9.9 (and if you've ever held a 9.9 you'd know that it's pretty dang light). looks wayyyy better in person than in any online pictures. sick helmet, all around.
Value
on proctorjones.com you can buy it for 70 bucks. it's an amazing helmet, and it's probably the best-spent money on gear for me this season. you get the comfort, lightness, and style all in one, for as much or cheaper as other helmets, and the material for impact inside seems very strong.
Fit
i got a medium. comes with a removable knit liner that honestly isn't that comfortable. but, it is removable... the helmet's made to fit your head with the liner in it, so if you take it out and substiture it with a hat of the same thickness, it fits like straight cash. other than the liner, this is the best fitting helmet i've ever tried on.
Durability
only worn the helmet today, but i cased a roller going about 40 and took a good tumble. no hard direct impact to my head, but it touched ground a few times and my head still feels golden.
