Lets start off with the basics, I'm a fairly light skier sitting at 5'11 and about 150 pounds when I wrote this review, although I'm light, my style of skiing never seems to stay the same..I picked up the I-Rock from Fat-ypus to be fat tree ski that could be light, quick and turn on a dime.
As for what terrain this ski is suited for is hard to say, cause It really comes down to ones personal preference. At a whopping 126 underfoot the I-rock is by no means an agile choice for park stuff. However for being so fat, the ski has an incredibly light and quick feel to it. These are my first fat skis and I honestly don't understand why some people come to the conclusion that all fat skis are clunky and slow turning. The I-rock makes a great tree ski because of its fairly quick-turning nature, It also excels in powder due to its sheer with and fairly significant rocker profile (55cm in the tip and 49cm in the tail), not to mention its only 2 mm of camber underfoot.. I live on the east coast but most would say I made a stupid choice buying such an incredibly fat ski, however when it gets down to the basics the I-rock will perform in basically anything but park and obscenely icy conditions. Its a very versatile ski, but then again I consider my self a fairly versatile skier when it comes to the ski im ridding. Some may not agree with me when I consider this a versatile ski...
All and all, the Fat-ypus I-rock Is supper fun ride in powder and trees or any other conditions or terrain you may encounter while skiing and such.
