I loved these skis, but they were stoled from me. If you find anyone with Red Chronic Wides (consumer versions are blu not red) and rossi Axial 11s kick their ass and PM me.
Performance
Works great as an all mountain ski. This ski does it all. I would get tte Blends if you are looking for a pow ski that you can still take in the park. However, I have heard their construction is different, hopefully someone will review them soon. I am dieing to hear how they ski. Anyway back to the Chronics and Chronic Wides. This is not just a jib ski, it holds up fine on large jumps. The chronic wide was a little iffy in the pipe. It works wonderfully in the trees. Floats fine in powder. One of my favorite riding skis.
Design
Tru twin tail helps landing switch in pow. The base does not hold up as well as say a K2 base but its no real problem unless you dont have a shop to fill your core shots.
Value
I got the Chronic Wides for $300, they originally came from a rep so that is why they were cheap. Try to get a deal on them, as you should with any ski. I try to never pay full price for anything.
Characteristics
Good and stiff but poppy. It'll get you plenty of pop for big rail features. Definetley stiff enough for some serious big mountain riding, especially on more crusty days when a wider ski would simply not be fit for the snow conditions.
Durability
The sidewalls started to deteriorate after a year of skiing. If you ski hard this can be expected of any ski. I was still pissed b/c the core was showing.
