Overall
I am pleased with how well these perform, even though they don't boast the highly technical specs of many other pants. They do everything I could ask for, and I didn't have to break the bank.
Performance
Even though the pants are only 8K/8K, they still keep me dry and warm. I am in Utah, so the snow is usually pretty dry, but even during stormy conditions, they hold up great.
Design
These are nice and simple. I wanted some basic black pants, and these fit the bill well. 1 cargo and 2 hip pockets are just enough. The only complaint I have is that they could be a little longer. At 6ft, they still reach my boots with a little excess, but for aesthetic reasons, I could use a little more (pardon the lame term) "ankle steeze."
Value
I purchased mine from Backcountry's Department of Goods and got a great deal
Fit
This was my first pair of pants stepping down from the biggest, baggiest XXXXXL outerwear I wore for years. I wanted to take it down a notch and get something that still looked good on the hill, but was more practical and less ridiculous looking. Especially if we stopped by a restaurant to get some food on the way home. I got the XL and am happy with the more sensible fit.
Durability
The material used is very thick with a nice textile feel, so I can tell they are going to last. The extra leather reinforcement around the back of the cuff bottom is a nice touch to keep it from fraying easily.
