Overall
Overall a really versatile ski. Handles great in almost all snow conditions making for a great ski that fits in that one ski quiver profile. Skis park just as well as all-mtn and backcountry, you can't go wrong with the S5.
Performance
This product performs great in almost every snow condition. They rip groomers, blast through crud and choppy snow and float in powder. Only way it would perform better in powder would be if it was rockered (which will be true on the equivalent '11/12 model the scimitar).
Design
The design of these skis is awesome. I love how you can see the wood core through certain spots of the top sheet. The mostly black top sheet looks great with the wood grain. The base is much brighter and has a great contrast with the snow. Its not what you would expect from looking at the top sheet and gives the ski a "2 Face" characteristic that is pretty sweet.
Value
I purchased the skis for $299 from tramdock, which was a steal. couldn't have asked for better.
Fit
I am 6'0" 200 lbs. and like to ski fast and aggressive. I purchased to 185's and love them.
Characteristics
The flex on these skis is very smooth and consistent. I like to ski fast and have yet to experience any chatter with these but they are still soft enough in the tip and tail to do presses and butters.
Durability
The skis have held up fantastic over my 2 years of use. They have retained their stiffness and still handle great at high speeds. No edge cracks after 2 years of rail use, no major chunks out of the sidewalls and the top sheet hasn't scratched that much.
