        Overall

The Boone Twins 170 freeride ski is one that is meant to be used both for park and for general all-mountain dependence and they live up to this demand.  This ski is resilient to damage and has become my favorite pair of skis for its versatility, stability and look. (As a comparison, I also own Solomon 1080s, Armada T-Halls, Armada Pipecleaners and Armada ANTs and these are by far my favorite for almost all conditions).  In a field dominated by brand-names, the Boone Twins have big name quality and feel, with a small brand price and look.

        Performance

In the park, these skis are extremely stable even when riding switch.  This fact was what surprised me the most about the Twins.  I expected some slight stability issues because of how light the skis are, but to my surprise they were an extremely stable ride.  The pop on these skis is also very satisfying, which I assume is due to the bamboo core.  These skis have a mid-range flex which I found to give enough for performance, but feel like they could never snap under use.

On groomers these skis are pretty standard for a ski that has a long sidecut to it.  They are good for wide carves across the entire run and the edges are grippy, so they actually end up being pretty enjoyable on the groomed stuff.

In the powder the Twins are fairly floaty (Though no comparison to fat powder skis such as the Armada ANT) and turn rather easily.  For powder days they are no replacement for "powder" skis, but if you happen to have these on the day it dumps you won't be disappointed because they are wide enough and floaty enough to get you through the day without sinking to the bottom.

        Design

The sandwich construction of these skis is top notch and provides for a stable ride.  They have a bamboo core which seems to contribute to the ski being lightweight and poppy.  As looks are concerned, both the base and topsheet of this ski will turn heads.  The are always a good conversation starter in lift lines and the checkered base graphics are extremely defining while in the air.

I should also mention the dimensions of my model are:
        Length: 170
        Tip: 125mm
        Waist: 93mm
        Tail:119mm

        Value

These skis are currently $300 from the manufacturers website, which is a steal for quality park skis.  Other brands are charging almost double for their all-mountain shredders.  These skis are also made in small batches so you won't see too many like yours on the slopes.

        Durability

I am currently a year into the use of my Twins and am having no problems.  The bases are super thick, so core shots are difficult to create.  The edges are well put together and have held up really well considering I am hitting the park day after day.  Recently many of my friend's skis (and my Solomon 1080s) have been splitting apart at the tips, but the Boone Twins have held up nicely in this respect as well.  The top sheet has experienced some chipping, but it's not as bad as I would expect considering how much I ride on them.

        Overall

I love my boones more than any other ski I've tried, used, looked at. They have made me a better skier, and plus, they are super small, and independent, so i know they have my back if anything goes wrong in the future. I cant wait for them to come up with their new powder ski. I hear its supposed to be fuckin off the HOOK! when it comes out, i'm definitely buying it, and i'll have my boone quiver almost done.

        Performance

They are the poppiest, and lightest ski i've ever used. They have bamboo cores, so they are really light and contain so much energy, its ridiculous. they have a little more camber than i'd expect, which means they arent the best midfat in the powder, but they absolutely slay everything in the park, and carve better than any other midfat ski i've used. They still kill it in the pow though. You just dont have as big of a sweet spot as you would on some big fatties.

They are way sicker than my old ARV's which were so soft, that when you took them down some cruddy face, or on some ice, they would wash out or get squirrelly. Not the case with the Boones. They have vertical sidewalls, so tons of edgegrip, and speaking of edges, they use super strong ones that are basically unbreakable. (I hear they will warranty them if your edges break) The bases are also super tough sintered 4400 bases, so you might need to wax them more often, but they are going to take a much higher beating. The topsheet has a few chips in it, but nothing like my armadas.

They arent the best at anything, but they are fantastic at everything. Jack of all trades, master of none for sure.

        Design

Whenever you take these things on a jump, or load them up and ollie over things, they give back exactly what you put in. They just spring you all over the place and are so full of energy and life. The freeride skis are 125-93-119, so a pretty sick sidecut.

They look awesome too. I know that Head did a similar kinda graphic with the JO pros, but i think these are pretty sick too, and I get A TON of compliments from guys on the mountain wondering about my skis. Everytime i get on the lift with somebody they are like "whoa! what are those! thats awesome!" its pretty sick. Never got that with my ARV's lol.

        Value

Got mine for 450 brand new from the boone skis website. Thats a killer deal for a ski of this quality. Volkl Bridges and Moment Tahoes were the other skis i was thinking about getting, but these were such a sick deal, and turned out to be, perhaps a better ski for me anyway.

        Fit

I weigh like 130 or something, and went for the 180 length because I'm using them half the time as an all mountain-freeride ski. they are sick in this length for me, because I can just charge the shit out of them, and blast through whatever I want. They float really well. I could have gone for the 170 length, but 180 just seemed right for me.

        Characteristics

They are kinda a perfect medium between stiff and soft. They are definitely soft enough to butter all day long, and pre-load for jumping and everything, and they are not so soft as to bet beat around by chunky, cruddy snow. They mash everything that gets in their way, and are really easy to manipulate.

        Durability

The edges are awesome. Really tough, burly fat things that take a beating. I've slayed a bunch of park with them, and they are holding up super strong. The base has one.. sorta kinda dont want to call it a... coreshot. It goes almost to where the core is, but not really. You dont see any wood. It was my fault that that happened too, because I just rode the things into the parking lot, and probably slashed over a rock. Thats my fault more than anything.

They are not looking like they will snap anytime soon. They seem super solid, and knowing what bamboo is, i doubt they even can snap, really lol.
