Overall
Great jacket for the price. top quality from HH. i would expect anything less than this from them. the color is also rockin too. bright blue. check it out in MSP's Claim and also some of the Nimbus Webisodes. Pollard rocked this jacket so you know its top notch.
Performance
This jacket has good Insulation / ventilation. On colder days its always good to layer up underneath but on those spring day a T- shirt will do you just fine.
Design
I like the design of this jacket. Sleeves are long enough for me which was a big problem i had being so tall. The cuffs are good too. very loose with a plastic mold/Velcro closure.
Value
i got this online for 350 which is what it retails for but its impossible to find HH gear in stores, very little carry them.
Fit
The Fit of this Jacket is great. Im 6'3" and got the XL and its loose but not massive.
Durability
so far so good.
Overall
the only thing i dont like about this coat is the lack of wrist gaiters, if it had those i would have given it a 10 for sure.
great coat, tons of fetures, high level of waterproofing, good styling, and a good fit.
Performance
great. 15000mm waterproof, fully taped seams, and rubberized zippers keeps me dry in all the pnw snow conditions. the media pocket is quite large. my mp3 player and cell phone fit in the media pocket without making a bulge on the outside of the jacket. the goggle pocket is huge, my i/os fit in there with room to spare. the goggle wipe is detachable from its cord that tethers it to its pocket. and the hand warmer pockets are lined with super soft fabric.
Design
the design is very functional as well as cool. this jacket was worn by a few helly skiers in claim, and other ski movies this year. i like the colors, i went with dusty green, which has white rubberized zippers.
Value
good value i got mine on hellys site for 200 shipped, which is on sale from 400, i think
Fit
This coat has a more traditional fit, not super baggy, but a little baggy. i got the xl(largest size they make) and it fits nice, but i wish that they made one size larger.
Durability
so far its held up better than any of my other gear.
Overall
I love this Jacket and i think Helly Hansen has found a repeat customer.
The only thing that prevents this from getting a 10 is that i would have liked it to have some Nija cuffs.
Performance
This by far is the best performing jacket i have owned
The Helly Tech XP is awesome when it comes to waterproofing and wind resistance. All the zippers are water resistant which is great, and the jacket has panels that stretch in spots were there is a lot of bending so as to not tear easily
The jacket is lightly insulated and very light but is very warm
Design
Helly Hansen has succeeded in making a technical jacket that is very simple and stylish.
The jacket feels like quality in your hands and has such a clean look, it is a very understated style.
Not to mention the Jacket is featured in films such as Hunting Yeti, and Claim* which reassures the fact that this jacket is Hot shit.
*Eric Pollard, James Heim, Hugo Harrisson
Value
The retail price for HH jackets is usually pretty high but you get what yo paid for. If you look around enough you can find deals which would equate to a steal.
any price you find will be worth it for this jacket
Fit
As many are aware Helly Hansen is not the leader in gorilla steeze, with this in mind, i am 511 155 and i bought a large and it fits perfectly. It is still baggy but not huge.
The arms and the length of the jacket are very proportional, sometimes i have had other jackets where the sleeves were wayyyy longer than the rest of the jacket.
Durability
I ski on the east coast which entails a lot of ice and trees. This jacket has slid down icy slopes and slashed through tree lines... not a signal rip or tear. This jacket should last for multiple seasons if you want it to.
