Great bag, cool colour options, I would opt for the 16 or 20 Litre for school but I liked the small size. I give it a nine because nothing can be perfect haha.
Performance
I bought the Heli Pack because I wanted a very low-profile bag that i could use to bring my ski socks, goggles, hats and other small accessories as well as my helmet to the hill and then be able to throw my shoes in so i wouldn't have to leave them lying around. This bag is perfect for what I wanted, it is very low profile (3 inches i believe) so i doesn't push me off the chair, has a great exterior flap (see picture) to put my helmet in instead of just clipping it to a strap and having it flail around as I walk, and it had appropriate space for my gear going to the hill and for my shoes and snacks/lunch while skiing.
Design
Its a very well designed pack, the exterior helmet flap was perfect, the small fleece lined exterior pocket is good for quick grab things like chocolate bars but can fit my crowbars too, the main compartment was a good size too as I could fit all my stuff as well as a thick math textbook, 3 spiral notebooks and a 1.5" binder on days i used it for school plus there is a mesh pocket to store hydration. It can be used to carry skis, snowboard or a skateboard (not that I needed it) with multiple straps and a ski cable and the shoulder straps are uber-comfy and spread the weight very well. It has a little zip for the end of the water resevoir in one of the shoulder straps and there are straps across the sternum and waist.
Value
For $60 it was a pretty good deal, I know Dakine makes very durable packs with lifetime warranties and I know it will get a ton of use so it was a good buy for me.
