Overall
If your a beginner you have every reason to get this ski, not at the price i bought it at but cheaper. It a little on the heavy side and has little/no buttering capabilities but rides pretty much anywhere and survives to ride the next day, unlike many other skis.
Performance
Great performance on jumps and rails. Not your butter ski, and not for use in a powder country. Yet this as my only ski: cat skied in Copper, pow in Vermont, and pow in Quebec and of course ONTARIO ICE. Powder not being ideal for this ski, and it sinks.
Design
The rail built strip of metal might be a bit gimmicky, but thinking about it, it would make the slide smoother and thus less ski damage of rails. Having never slid another rail with different twins restricts my opinion to say that yes the metal strips are gimmicks, but if you've learned anything in physics, the coefficient of metal to metal is higher than ski base plastic, so in theory it should help, and hey i am riding rails perfectly fine.
Value
Not worth the retail price i paid, more than $600, but i wasn't paying for them and my ski shop was limited on selection. But hey they've lasted at least 2 seasons.
Fit
I 5'8 and riding the 171's and they feel a bit heavy, so if your using them for urban i would suggest getting the shorter size.
Characteristics
A bit of a stiffer ski, definitely a go for jumps. Not your butter ski, but give you a snappy stiffer flex.
Durability
Great durability, same pop as the first day i slapped them on. Only con is the severe chipping on the top sheet, which has no negative effect on how the ski performs or rides, and I've seen people have just spay painted over and taking off all the top sheet chips.
