I started skiing at Edinburgh's local dry slope Hillend when I was 5, went through the race programme in my teens and became and instructor to pay for beer during university.

I've done seasons in Banff (Mt Norquay) and Wanaka (Treble Cone), but in the kitchen rather than teaching.

I worked as a journalist for six years - getting out to the Alps at least once a winter - but I've recently got a job writing and editing for Crystal Ski - so hoping for many more trips on the company.

One too many Jerry moments saw me abandon any hope of conquering the park a long time ago, so I mostly stick to whatever steep and deep I can find. pegerteg
