Lower Silver Fox has always been one of my favorite runs and leg burners. It's got buff, a double fall line, a gulch, bumps, shrubs, and open terrain. Even with this low tide season, there is still a lot of fun to be had all over the mountain. Sharpen those edges and get your knees ready!

Low tide conditions may exist but the good snow and good times are still out there! This zone has become one of my favorites and what makes Snowbird what it is. Raw, rocky, steep, technical, and nothing fancy. Marcus Caston introduced me to this zone during my first or second season at Snowbird. It was on the right side of Organ Grinder where it looked like there wasn't enough snow for anyone to ski it and that type of terrain isn't anything like what I came from at Hunter Mountain in NY. He proved me wrong and that opened my eyes to what was actually skiable.

Not much snow has forced me into finding some unique entrances into the typical trails. Crawling over rocks, many jump turns, and using the green belay.

Nothing like a spicy straight-line to get your blood flowing. Forbidden Zone looked great after getting a few inches of snow over the last week but there are always rocks lurking underneath the surface. During this line, I wasn't too concerned about the rocks/shrubs and was more focused on the traverse at the exit of the line.

Spring has sprung (except for today) so I visited our neighbor over the weekend. The Baldy boot pack via Snowbird was an easy walk and everything was open on the Alta side of Baldy. Little Chute has a nice chokepoint created by side slippers and the snow was choppy buff. Unfortunately not telemetry for this one. My GoPro didn’t get any accurate GPS data.

This area is known to be rocky and unforgiving. The name says it all and every turn has to be calculated or sharp, jagged rocks are on the menu. Now that we have had some snow and a good base, this area is fun to play around in and practice some jump turns.
