Here's a look at what went down at one of the coolest freeride competitions in Europe, Zinal Freeride.

The North Face Ski Challenge
is a leading freestyle ski contest for youngsters not older then 21.
The best riders are selected in different selection contests, in areas
located throughout Europe. Those who make it to the finals are invited
for the main event, that takes place in Val Thorenz (FR) on the 26th,
27th and 28th of march 2010.
Directly participating in the finals is not possible, everyone gets
equal chances en everyone who meets the age requirements can
participate, disregarding his or her nationality. Doing so, the riders
of the Airborne Freestyle Skiteam
have participated 2 times already in the past, with nice results in the
end. Last year Dries Lemmens advanced nicely to the finals and achieved
a 4th place in the freeride discipline. This great result provided him
with a sponsorship of The North Face Belgium.more
On the 18th of july the Saas Fee Ride 2009 would have taken place for
the 7th time. That was the main reason for us, to travel to the far
Switserland. Unfortunately the competition was canceled due to bad
weather. On friday the forecast predicted much rain and wind, saterday
would be a transition day and only later on sunday the forecast
predicted good weather. Due to these circumstances the crew didn't had
enough time to prepare everything for the contest (shaping, DJ set-up,
...), cancelling the contest was the logical result. It's a little bit
ironic though, knowing that on sunday it was one of the best summer
gletcher days of the year.
