Nick Martini was supposed to be the biggest thing in skiing, and when he was healthy, he was going in that direction, but injuries got the best of Nick’s ski career. Good thing he was also an award-winning filmmaker who had plenty of downtime to hone his craft. These days, Nick’s Stept Productions has evolved into Stept Studios and what was a small crew based out of Colorado is now a thriving studio, employing 40+ people and continuing to live the dream. It’s an awesome conversation.

Simon Dumont is a legendary figure in the world of freeskiing. Known for boosting higher than almost anyone else in the halfpipe, Simon’s career was full of podiums and video parts. While he is a legend in the sport, things didn’t come easy for Simon. He was always too small and told he would never make it and he never listened. He willed and worked himself to success and it’s something he believes anyone can do, if they put in the work
Pep Fujas is arguably one of the most influential skiers of our time, I’ve had so many guests bring him up on the show as the person they looked up to. Known for his style, Pep has always seen terrain differently, which has always shown in his skiing. On the podcast we talk about growing up in a yurt, contests, Tanner, Plake, Afterglow, K2, and his new venture WNDR Alpine. It’s a do not miss episode with a legend.
Shane McConkey was the most influential skier of all time, but he was so much more than that. Husband, father, funniest guy in the room, product visionary, goofball….there are so many words but none of them can truly describe who McConkey was. On the podcast, I head to Squaw Valley for his signature snowlerblade event, take you through what that looks like, and talk to a variety of people to get some funny McConkey stories. If you haven’t seen the movie “McConkey”, go watch it and then listen to the podcast.

David Lesh is a hustler that’s living every ski bros dream. He’ an athlete, a bachelor, successful entrepreneur, who really knows how to live. Along the way, he’s pissed a lot of people off, traveled the world, bought a plane, has been to court too many times and has also hung out with Obama when he had a big job. While people assume he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, that’s not the case, which explains a lot. Love him or hate him, it’s a good listen.

While Trevor Kennison may never become a household name, he caught the attention of the snow world last week during the Kings and Queens of Corbet’s event. Travis Rice and Caite Zeliff may have won the money but “Riders Choice” winner, Trevor Kennison, started a new life. Five years ago Trevor had a life-altering injury that put a hard stop to life as he knew it. While Trevor doesn’t know what his future will hold, what he did on his sit-ski in Jackson Hole last week, has the opportunities rolling in. It will be fun to see what he does with them.

Gnarly Charley Ager is one of the biggest mysteries in skiing. He came up from no-where to set the ski world on fire with his loose, sometimes scary style and switch landings that were way ahead of his time. As fast as Charley’s career evolved, it disappeared in the same speed. Charley walked away from skiing and into some personal issues and injury that we discuss on the podcast. The good news is, this story has a happy ending and Charley Ager is alive.

Chris Booth is positioned to light the ski world on fire again with his new gig at Awayco. And when I say again.... once upon a time, this former X-Games level athlete put skiing in the rear view mirror--to practice law. After a few years, he wasn't happy, quit the law firm, and jumped into the world of brand building as the Commercial Director of Black Crows. He killed it and instead of enjoying the fruits of his labor, he walked away for something he sees as the future of ski, snowboard, surf and...travel.
