2 broken heels RIP DA SZN

Welp I cased a park jump yesterday, I tried to walk it off but ended up having to go to urgent care, and after some xrays and cat scans they told me that I have two heel bone fractures and a break in my left foot and 1 heel bone fracture in my right foot. Might have to get some screws put in but I'm really hoping I don't. I'm not completely sure how long I'm gonna be out for, but as I was leaving, the doctor said "sorry that your season is over", which bummed me out. I'm also probably gonna have to move out of the college dorm I am living in and move home, as I basically can't but any weight on either of my feet which makes me useless. Has anyone else has experience with something similar? What do I do with myself now? Daytrade? Get to Gold Nova in CSGO? Sit in silence and stare at a wall? This shit sucks.

here was the highlight of my season, now this just makes me sad to watch:

Yikes. Broken heels are a hell of an injury.


My dad broke (shattered) both his heels about a decade ago falling about 30 feet onto concrete. It was bothering him for about 6 years and he still can't walk barefoot for very long. Not much you can do with that injury, he couldn't lay down on his back without propping his heels up. Crutches don't help much with both of them broken. Hopefully, you have someone to live with so they can take care of you.

Anyways healing vibes man, hopefully this wasn't too depressing to hear.

So sorry to hear that man. I broke my right heel about 2 years ago now and it sucked. Good thing is, if you really stay off it it can heal up good. Not always going to be a bad healing process and I wish you the best of luck. Shred sauce should keep you busy for a sec

To the OP im sorry to here your season is tanked. I would take the time to get better and find some other things to check out. I remember back some years ago I messed up my wrist and knee pretty bad in a Mountain Bike fall. I was bummed because I couldnt run or lift to stay in shape and walked with a limp. Finally I decided to do lap swimming to stay in shape and it actually healed my issues in like 2 weeks. I would check with your doctor first but swimming really helps strengthen your ligaments and the no-shock resistance is really good for recovery.

As a side note, the busted knee actually got me a Medical Cannabis card in CO right when they first started the program so that is cool. Even the doctor at the application center said, "Well, your actually the first person to apply for this that actually has a legit condition..."

I feel the pain man, I was having the best season of my life this year and did something stupid in the beginning of January and broke my collarbone in two places. 8 screws and a plate later I feel perfectly fine but even going on NS makes me sick, I can't think about skiing anymore it literally makes me depressed knowing I can't do one of the things I love most. You'll be alright tho, and if you gotta get surgery done worry abt it. If you're worried about financials that's one thing, but if you're worried abt the process of getting surgery itself don't worry at all, anesthesia is low key fun, and from someone who HATES needles anywhere near veins, I was alright the whole time. Good luck man heal quick

Take a bunch of CS classes so you can one day work / live wherever you want, afford proper backcountry ski gear, and pay all your future medical bills for continued hard sending.

This sucks dude, I’m sorry to hear it. A good reminder for the rest of us to be cartful but I wish it hadn’t gone like that for you.

1. video games.
2. When/if you go to physical therapy doooooo alllll of it. I broke my ankle a couple years ago and PT was amazing for helping me get back in it.

I'm in a similar place right now bro, not as serious an injury but I separated my shoulder last week when my binding broke. It definitely sucks not being able to ski, especially with covid literally all I've done since I got hurt is sit inside and work/game. But next season will be here before you know it so better start that physio ASAP for maximum sends next year

Honestly dude after somehow not falling on the outrun of that double backy you must have been in some serious debt to the ski gods.


Seriously though that sucks. if it in any way helps, skiing in Europe has been non existent this year - I haven’t clicked in since jan 2020 and doubt I’ll be able to until next winter so I’m jealous as hell that you were able to ski and stomp a dub this year

as someone who had to deal with several injuries... all i can say to you is the following:

it's honestly like the process of grief. It's okay to be sad at first , you're injured and emotionally hurt. Take your time.

But you have to accept it happened at some point and remain as positive as possible. Obviously its easier said then done but you have to try. A positive mind will not only enhance they way you heal - you'll also come back stronger yungin ! Focus your mind on things you always thought you had no time for now. Let your mind wander around and try out new things you always wanted to (things you can do in this current state).



It's part of the game , we're all in it - sometimes we win and sometimes we loose. But we get up and as good as we can and send it again !



You got this champ.



...and thats coming from someone who literally had his shoulderhead break out underneath to my shoulderblade.

aww man thats a bummer dude. i cased a park jump and fractured the growth plate in my right heel earlyer this year, had to take 3 weeks off which sucked. tbh youre injury sounds significantly worse. shredsauce goes a long way when you have to sit around and want to ski really bad. hope you recover well and dont need screws my guy.

This one takes the cake for me. The setup was horrible, they were literally snowmobile towing the skiers over the top of the hill and the gap was dangerous as hell. Derek almost died too.

Not an undershoot but quite literally the polar opposite, can’t forget abt Simon Dumont’s overshoot at park city. That was terrible

what we are learning here is that any time a snowmobile is used to get speed you are not going to have a good time. i cant believe simon survived that. that sound alone hurt.
