TaposchtBraBroke my neck two years ago. Went freeriding in milky af fog, crashed into a fckn Icebar some guys built. Frontflipped over it and hit my head midair on one of the iceblocks. Was paralyzed instantly and if it wasn´t for my sister i´d probably be dead. Had my first chopper flight to the hospital, surgery took nine hours, same two surgeons over the whole night. They gifted me with a titanium plate and eight screws that now combine my 2nd - 5th vertebras in my neck. They also had to cut a piece of my hip out to built into my new neck and while they did it, they accidentally hit a nerve so now i can´t feel half my ass no more.
I was paralyzed for a whole week, but somehow my legs came back after that and over the next two months my arms joined in as well. They still can´t explain how the fuck i managed to get so lucky during that whole thing. After the first two months i started to learn to walk again which took me three weeks to achieve. Crazy thing was that i knew the movements but my body couldn´t do them in the beginning. My whole balance was completely off after having laid still for two months and i kept blacking out whenever i would raise my upper body a bit, but luckily this problem went over quickly.
Left the clinic four months after my accident, the fastest recovery they ever had over there which i still can´t believe that it actually happened. I kept wearing a neckbrace for the next month, during which my fingers came back almost completely.
Nine months after the accident i stepped on skis for the first time again and been skiing ever since.
Now i´m completely back to normal with the exception of my head movement, which now is limited by 50% compared to you guys and my ass. I now ski with a motocross neckbrace by leatt and a fullface by TOBE to make sure that my head never goes over its new limit in a crash. In the beginning it was a bit strange skiing like that but i fell in love with it, also cos i don´t have another option haha. Last year i ditched my freeride skis and got myself the völkl revolt 121 & the 104, been learning tricks in powder ever since. Lookin back, it´s still surreal for me, met a lot of amazing people during my time in the clinic, one of them a sixteen year old guy who also broke his neck and is now paralyzed for life, but somehow was the most positive guy i have ever met. Changed my outlook on life completely and the whole thing is somethin i´ll never forget.

I didn’t actually get hurt or anything from this but it’s definitely my favourite crash to watch that I have on film
