Just kicked out college then parents kicked me out future plan?
update: I was only suspended for a semester and it wasn't for grades it was for public intoxication which was stupid yes ,but to be suspended for it is a little far. And I didn't lose my scholarship so work ideas til spring?

Right now, Mt. Hood. I am looking into getting a car/truck that I can sleep in the back of so I can take extended weekend trips to Utah and Colorado. I am looking forward to sleeping in the parking lots of some resorts over the next few years. May not be super legit but the idea is driving me crazy. Wake up at 8:30... Have a cup of coffee and a bagel... Hop on the lift

We need back story on why you were thrown out of school.

You probably want to get a job and an apartment/room. Maybe enroll in community college to try to get back on track?

Otherwise I'd suggest obtaining a van and living in said van down by the river could be another good option?

What is “the good life” to you? Do you want a career requiring a college education? Then once you have your job/housing situation sorted start planning how you will afford to take whatever it is you’re taking in school. Money is nice to have. I like money.

Maybe you don’t want that kind of responsibility though..? You haven’t explained why you got kicked out of college or if You have it in you to not repeat the same “mistakes”. Maybe you just want easy job that pays enough to pay for your weed/drugs until they kill you? Its mighty tempting..

Either way don’t be in too big a hurry to get school finished. Unless you feel confident in what you want to do in life (sounds like you probably don’t) then maybe move somewhere with a decent min wage and just work somewhere relatively enjoyable like McDonald’s until you’re on your feet? You’re in control of your own shit now... there’s something to be said for that. Sounds like you’re young... fuck it. enjoy life and just get thinking about what you WANT not what has been expected up until now. Don’t slack on the job and maybe an opportunity will come up an education isn’t quite worth what it once was

If youre seriously thinking about this, buy an older gen toyota (they can run by hooking up the ignition, fuel pump, and I believe the alternator aka they run forever on nothing) then insulate a shell and the bed on the back of it. Its really that easy. Or buy a 4runner or landcruiser if you don't want a pickup for the same reasons. All are cheap, last forever with regular maintenance, and are capable on any sort of road. I plan on doing this on some summer trips to south america or winters after college (if i don't drop before graduation)

Yeah this is going to happen. I will probably make a thread if I can't dig up any information on my own.

At first I was really leaning towards getting a truck, but it has to be one that has AWD. It seems like I would have to get a newer more expensive truck to make this happen. I talked to a guy that did this and he said getting in the back at the end of the day was like getting into a coffin... If I got a canopy with windows this may not be an issue, but I would also probably need to get a heater in the back.

While a Subaru outback around the year 2000 would probably be the cheapest option, it may not be long enough with the seats folded down to sleep comfortably. My friend that did this is several inches shorter than me and said I would probably have to sleep diagonally, which would be really difficult to pack properly.

I am not going to make a move on this for at least another 4 months, but more likely 16 months

Underrated car imo. You always hear about the 4runners and tacos but never really the cruisers. My 96 has 187k on the clock, 3x locked from the factory, and still gets 14 to the gallon with a 3 inch lift and 35s. Fully loaded with camping stuff it’s a bit less but take out the second row and swap in a bed platform and you’re pretty much ready to go anywhere your heart desires.

Slinky intermediate lift. It’s 3” lift with bumps, brake lines, the whole nine yards. You just need castor plates for it. No rub on turning and no rub fully stuffed when crawling

Idk, maybe square things away with parents and get into a good standing with them before saying "Fuck off" and go ski everyday. Sounds fun on paper being broke as shit and slaying pow but sooner or later, the fun goes away and you'll need someone to bail your ass out.
