As some of you may or may have not noticed... we have just launched version 1 of our iPhone app. 

This has been a long time in development, and I can't thank Adam and Ian enough for all their hard work on it. 

Notice that we took a different approach to this.   Yes, the app is a paid app, so you're going to have to shell out for it... but we kept it ad-free.   Bottom line, we had to hook up Adam as he put an unthinkable amount of work into this thing.

I'm stoked at trying this model of development out, and am really excited to see your guys opinions on it, as well as the adoption rate. 

Anyways, big shout out to Adam and Ian for all their hard work.    Couldn't have gotten here without you guys.

I can confirm that Version 1.1 Build 18 works seamlessly on the iPad running as a normal iPhone app... as it should. So rest assured that your iPad will not crash if you try to use the iPhone version of iNS.

I have a dolla dolla sign that pops up on iNS. I got really excited then when I hopped on my computadora it disappeared.

Good job with the app for sure, I have an Iphone so I use it in school, airports, red lights, waiting behind the average 300 pounds man at mcdonalds ordering $29 worth of food, taking a shit and any other time, for sure worth it.
It will be real nice when they put in the messaging and my threads update if there is one.
Good job and to some of you stop being so damn greedy, NS is like another home, so stop bitching about spending $2. Support newschoolers for hooking us up.

Yeah I saw that too, I thought Ben had donated, but when I signed on from my comp he was still the same. So its gotta be a bug of some sort.

Couple of suggestions- mabey you could click on links, some that hve already been said, picture section/ messaging and mabey when the realese newschoolers chat like the facebook one you could make it for iPhone these would be awsome sorry for bad spelling I'm on my iPhone

Just a cosmetic glitch I've noticed- no need to fix it, but in the name of looking fly...

when you have the ipod oriented vertical and you click into a more specific genre of threads (i.e. go from the general forum menu into ski gabber) and then rotate the screen orientation to horizontal while in that forum, there is a small cosmetic glitch. When you use the BACK button to go back to the general forum menu, and your ipod is still oriented horizontal, the list of threads is still vertical. it just cuts off in the middle. A quick turn of the ipod fixes it, so it's no big deal- but something like that shouldn't be too difficult to fix (according to my lack of programming know-how)

When a tread has been deleted and you click on it it boots you out of the app can you change that?

Release it on the ANDROID market!!!

There are a lot of desperate Droid users like me who would love a NS app.

Android is very open, you don't have to go through much trouble to get in on the market as I would suspect one would find with Apple.

Not gonna happen. It would require a completely new app, essentially. Too much developing time, too much work to get another app going from the ground up.

a couple suggestions for an update: make links clicky add the ability to watch embedded videos PMs, profile, etc. you guys are doing a great job with this, keep it up!

all I really want is for the app to remember my new password, I have entered it in hundreds of times and it asks "do you want to update your saved pasword" and I say yes. Next time I open the app, it still shows my old password. Really annoying to have to enter my longass password everytime.
Out of the features people are suggesting, this seems like it would be closer to the realistic/easy side.
Pleaaaaaaaase could you fix that bug next update, that would make me so happy :)

just noticed this but mine seems to freeze on the sending/posting screen...like the logo keeps spinning but not the one by my wifi signal

i tried respringing and restarting.

anyone else notice this?

sometimes I'll type a really long, important post and it will stay on the posting screen forever, and then the app closes.

I just want to throw it out there that iNS was such a lifesaver on the 12 hour car trip I'm on. Very few complaints about it. Thank you so much for keeping me sane :D

The app has been having sone issues opening, I can't even get past the login screen. The usual fix for problems with apps is to simply remove and re-install, so I did it. I found it in the app store again and instead of saying INSTALL on a green button, it's greyed out and says INSTALLED. so I can't install it. I don't have the best computer access, and I'm on newschoolers.com on my iPod typing this. Don't leave me iNS :(

We need the OS4 fix soon- the whole "(null)" in the quote box in every post that doesn't have a quote in it is more than annoying.

Also, PMs and clickable links would be amazing... Just let us click the link and open in safari.

Also, can we have a memory type thing where iNS remembers where we are, so if we quit the app, then start up again, it'll take us to whatever page we were on when we last quit instead of the login again? That'd be the best, and practically a necessity if we get clickable links.
