New Skis and New Bindings

Alright guys, I've helped so many people out getting new skis, and now I'm asking for the favor to be returned. Your opinion will definitely be taken into account.

So what happened: Today I cased on a 3 second run, and my bindings have been doing a very shitty job (Salomon Z Series DON'T BUY THEM). So I ripped my heelpiece out, and I'm fucking done with them. They've been on my original Ar6s and this is my fourth year on them. I absolutely love my Ar6s, but I feel that they are loosing life fast, and this is the right time to replace them if I'm gonna be getting new bindings.

So, I am an expert skier, 6'1 145 pounds and these are going to replace my Ar6s as park skis. I already have Line Bacons for pow skis, so I'm looking for a mostly park only ski, that can cruise around the mountain well also. I do both jumps and rails, and ski my skis hard, but keep very good care of them at the same time (the reason my Ar6s have even lasted this long)


So NS? What skis and bindings should I get?

a pair of jon olsson pros are always a good buy they're pretty durable (at least mine are) and i actually like them on rails because they're so light. hope that helps.

Liberty LTE's seem like a jacked up version of an ar6 too. bamboo core which is lighter and poppier, anti-chip topsheet, thick ass edges like armadas...and a baller 3 year warranty. the flex is similar to an ar6, just a little more flexy.

Shoot Moment an email. Late last season I was interested in a pair of Bibby's and sent them an email just to see what they could do for me. They were willing to give me a killer deal and I was about to buy them, then I ran out of moneys. :-(

by the sounds of it you like to have a good ski that lasts you a long time.. Might as well go with the oldest ski company in the world and get rossi S4s i love mine, and they hold up to just about anything you could possibly throw at them.  They a little on the stiffer side so you cant butter a lot but arnt 2x4s by any means basically imo the perfect every day riding/ park ski.  Oh and look at sierra snowboards, they got fks 12s for 150, at least they did a few weeks ago

But Rockers retail for less. Just hit them up and see what they can do for you. Every time I've gotten into contact with them they've been super helpful and nice.

Also how much is your price range, maybe some chronics would suite you good, even some afterbangs, at worst pick up another pair of AR6's, there dope sauce and think of the improvement( if there actually was one) you feel in the ski after skiing the first gens and the newest ones.

those both seem  fun and buttery. I have never ridden either of them, but a friend has the fujas and he loves them.

Afterbangs are nice and stiff, and ugly as fuck. You could get Invaders if you're looking for noodles.
333skis.com if you want to pick up some specialized skis.
Ever checked out the T-Halls? My friend has em, they're really nice.
Another of my friends has the Dumonts, he loves them.

New Demo gear is made up of showroom samples (either from the evo store or from the manufacturer)  these products may have light scratches or scuff marks, but have never been used.  In many cases this equipment is NEW gear that is missing the manufacturers labeling, documentation and/or packaging.

REPLACE YOUR AR6'S.
There was defenetly a nee to yell that, there amazing skis and in my opinion the most perfect skis. They are soft enough for butters yet stiff enough to charge and not wheelie out of landings. Their super durable as you can tell and just yeah, replace them with new ones.
And bindings, i will tell you never to get them just because there all plastic and a small skinny kid cracked them within his first week. But bindings i can tell you to go for are look px12 jibs. Yes they are heavy but common it doesn't matter TOO much. But they are amazingly strong. I'm 190 pounds and super hard on my skis. All the landings to anything are ice i fall alot and just they've held up to anything for two years (this is there third season) They have let go when i wanted them to and they keep me in when their supposed too. So i defenetly recommend those bindings and to replace your ar6's. Hope this helps!

new ar6's if you love them so much
and i really wish i had looked up fks bindings before i got px12's and so i will recommend the fks 120 or the next step up. dont buy this years... theyll cost more than your skis if you do. just shop around for them, using google, ebay, and of course B/S/T on here.

I witnessed my 110 pound friend break the heelpiece on his PX12's after less than a year of using them. I, and a few of my friends, have had nothing but problems with the brakes on them as well. You see kids all over the mountain having to stomp the ground like it's their job just to get clicked into PX12's. I would not recommend PX12's to anyone. I have also broken brakes on STH 14's but I have had zero problems with FKS 120's.

My 2 cents on the binding debate.

thanks everyone for the help so far, i'm probably gonna order fks 120s today because i've got a really good deal on them!

as for skis... i'm definitely considering more ar6s, but i need to keep the price down because i'm paying for them. maybe last years?

i would say 178 anthems would be great for you. i was sketch coming into this season with my first centermounted skis for all mountain but found anthems great. aside from moguls they could charge groomers and were so much fun in the park. they are softer than bangs but for your size they should be fine. if your doing more all mountain you may enjoy chronics.

i would say shop around but backcountry pretty much has a lifetime warranty. my friend broke his ninthwards in half and bc gave him his full money back even though he bought them 2 years ago. plus bc often has the best price plus they have price match gaurantee.

for binders dont waste your money on the new fks or pivot. the older ones can be bought for super cheap ive bought two pairs from ski swap and ebay for a total of 80 bucks. they are great bindings much better than the sollys you have used

as for alpha 1s, now i'm seriously considering them. they look really dope

and for bindings, i have a good deal on 08 or 07 fks, so they're not expensive

im saying this years alpha 2's! they look so sick...but if you would rather have the pipe cleaner race base than the ar6 base and a stiffer core, then go for it!

Volkl wall with the jester 16 on it great park combo and even for all mountain use they are great ski. Even center mounted they perform good  on slopes aswel .
Don't know wath the pricing is in the usa but for this I paid 600euro's .
