Thoughts on posting edits in ski gabber

So this seems to be getting out of hand and im about to break my own morals and do it because everyone else is, we either need to ban or make some kind of rules about it.

It's a pretty fine line. Some edits just deserve to be posted, but then again we obviously don't want SG to become the video section..

I guess it's a case by case thing.

Where would you draw the line with rules on posting in SG v. the video section?

Personally i think only very few edits should make it to SG - and at present they get deleted on a case by case basis. If an edit is clearly not worthy of being posted in forums then it generally gets deleted.

if it's no trouble for mods to delete the bad ones, i think it would be good to have the good edits stay up in sg, and the bad ones taken down. however, for this to work there would definitely have to be a high level of riding or editing or whatnot for a video to not get deleted. just my 2 cents

I guess, if its a thread like the one where everyone first saw Gus' edit (a bad day for you evan, i know) then its cool, cos its bringing something to everyones attention and its often something that can spark a lengthy discussion like that video did or could stoke out tons of kids who may have missed say the new Clown School or 4bi9 edit somewhere else.
If its just like hey look! I made a video, this is shameless self promotion and it'll get more views here so i'm posting it up! then thats pretty wack and shouldn't be aloud.

Yeah, like the people putting out consistently good edits can keep people posted on what's happening could stay, but the shameless self promotional ones would be deleted.

evan, flaw in your arguement, if you don't post your edits in SG then someone else will. IE. today.

I don't think the number of edits in ski gabber is that bad right now but when the season really gets going it's going to be insane.

when people post edits saying critique my skiing thats stupid and when people post edits saying how crazy a skier is and my mind is not blown thats stupid. To have an edit SG worthy i think it should be mind blowing.

if anything, move the borderline edits over to media and arts. obvioiusly we don't want that forum being cluttered with edits either, but if the ones that just couldn't quite make the cut on SG were there i don't think it would be such a bad thing.

i personally think that the person who made/is in the video shouldnt be allowed to post their own stuff, if someone else thinks its good enough to bring into SG then let it be in there.

Certain ones should be in ski gabber. new traveling circus' or new 4bi9 edits for sure. and even though i may die a little inside by giving you a compliment, your edits should be in there as well. 

basically, good edits yes. shitty edits of some kids first season, no.

add an edits forum?? kinda similar to the video section i guess but restricted more to just finished edited shit on actual snow.  I'm sick of seeing a vid from every kid with a tramp in his back yard

actually that sounds like a good idea, but there would still have to be a lot of modding going on in there to make sure there isnt random shit being posted in there

can post THEIR OWN edits.  And I didn't mean to be that black and white about it, i just dont think everyone should post their own edits in there because it would get annoying.  I'm fine with posting others edits that you think are really good.
