How do you use your computer?

I use my computer for alot of things, so do my dad. But we're not using our computers the same way. You guys get where this is going?Do you think(if technology hasn't changed alot) our/your computer habits will stay the same in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years?
Last but not least, rank the top 10 different types of applications on your computer you think you use most. If you own both a mac and a pc, rank both your pc and your mac individually. If not, atleast mention whatever you got and if your happy with it.

My answer to this is, first, i do think i will be sending more emails in terms of work and stuff like that. Probably still playing whatever version of Football Manager is out. Probably using Premiere Pro on my mac editing footage of myself and then later on my kids. iTunes, im never ever going to stop use that.
For instant messaging im not sure, im definatly keeping my account though.

Top 10 most used applications on my mac:
1. Music programs, iTunes and Spotify
2. Internet browser, Firefox, Safari accationally.
3. Instant Messenger, Microsoft Messenger.
4. Email, Mac Mail
5. Poker, Pokerstars and Full Tilt
6. Football Manager, 2009 right now.
7. Movies, VLC and QuickTime
8. Downloading, Firefox, FrostWire and Transmission
9. Editing pictures and video, Premiere Pro and Photoshop
10. Writing and Presentation, Word and Keynote

Im on a White Macbook 2.13 GHz and 2 GB RAM which i couldn't be more satisfied with.

1. google chrome, usually 10+ tabs open.. always downloading shit. Mostly mixtapes
2. Itunes for my iPod
3. Windows media player to check out the music
4. Norton internet security.. I like to keep my computer clean and scan.
5. World of warcraft
6. Checking my PCs health with HP advisor
7. Aim every once in a while.. I dont use it that much
8. backing up my comp with discs and shit

that's about it.. i just bought my laptop 2 weeks ago so I havent explored too much Ive just been doing normal computer shit.

All on a HP G60
3GB RAM
and some shit haha idk

4. Quicktime? I watch a ton of movies on my laptop so this has some hours

6. Garage Band, again like to fool around with it
7. Final Cut, It would be higher up but i have nothing to work with at the moment, and i prefer Sony Vegas
8. Photobooth
9. iPhoto, photo management software
10. iCal, I like to be organized

on a 13", 2.2ghz processor, black macbook, with 2gb ram and a 100gb hard drive.

Our interactions with computers will constantly change. Some things will remain relatively similar, but shit, the way I;ve used my computers over the last decade has changed so damn much, it is like night and day

As for the shit I do, it varies a bit depending if I'm working on a project or just chilling..

1. Internet browsing almost for sure, like right now. That may encompass research or just being a bitch on NS to who knows what.
2. Music. Well, I listen to music (with Rhapsody or other owned music), or streaming (radio like talk, baseball game, music) as well pretty much anytime I'm on the computer. Could possibly be technically #1, but since it is more of a background application with little interaction, I'll consider it a strange #2.
2. Rhino 4.0 - I don't like 3ds max or other 3d modeling programs a whole lot, so I end up using Rhino for my of my architecture projects and other self-prescribed projects.
3. Maxwell Render  - Use it with Rhino and Sketchup.... a lot.
4. Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign... A lot. Indesign probably the most, with Photoshop on its heels.
5. Age of Empires II. Still play it a bit with some friends and occasionally against the latinos (predominantly) on IGZ.
6. Pokerstars, but that is waning since I'd rather play poker in casino.
7. Revit. Use it, but not too often, but it kicks ass when needing structural details.
8. Sketchup 7 pro.
9. Autocad architecture
10. MSN - for video chat and stuff

I built my computer cause im a nerd...

1.  Firefox is always open...chrome sometimes
2.  Songbird for music playback...like itunes but not made by apple
3.  Photoshop is used almost daily for something
4.  Reason cause I am working on some sweet songs with a friend
5.  ChemOffice...im a chemistry grad student so i have to do a lot of stuff in ChemDraw and stuff so I can hopefully get some papers published
6.  VMWare so I can run linux without getting out of windows...mostly for chemistry junk
7.  uTorrent...you know why
8.  DVD Decrypter and MeGUI to convert all my DVD's to mp4's
9.  Counter Strike...nerd

I built my computer for gaming, and it is nicely running-

1. Firefox.  Lately I have been on NS, FB, Steam, and a Subaru Forester forum.  I will open chrome for porns.

2.  uTorrent.  I am downloading things all of the time, currently the newest episodes of Weeds, some albums, and I have downloaded a few games this week.

3. Steam.  All of the games that are worth not stealing (for multiplayer) are usually on steam.  Cod4 is the most used steam game on my PC.

4.  CCleaner.... best...program...ever...

5.  Games.

Those are pretty much the only programs that I will open every day, especially in the summer.  When I am at school I will be writing papers every day, so MS Word will be open a lot.  I have a bit more 'random free time' there too so I will being whoring through recent games, and fucking around with PS, Sketchup, and VB.
