EA skiing game

First off, This isn't a thread asking why we don't have a skiing video game. My friend's dad works for EA and he is a pretty important person. He gets hundreds of ideas for video games each week. But I asked my friend if he would talk to his dad about a skiing game and he said he would, but not without some good ideas first. So, I thought I would let you guys throw some ideas in here and I would organize them and then give them to my friends dad.

exact same game as skate but on snow. a few major resorts and you can go around the towns hitting urban. For career there should be comps like dew tour and xgames

No2. Skiing has grown in popularity and is now commercialisable via video games
No.3 More trick possibilities than a snowboard game
No.4 All the NS members would buy it
No.5 Does it have to be all-skiing? they could put, like, side-missions on a board, preferably hosted by some pro.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! throw in some proper lifts and shit - so yo can go up and down the hill and get in arguments! - and gapers who you can drive by shoot gangsta style (like in GTA) while nose tapping a box to a slow-mo super man quadruple front-flip!

might be harder to do with skiing but would be good to have a system where you have to learn shit like in skate with different flip tricks. maybe in the sense of throwing corks right and timing inverts and shit. not something you can just pick up and instantly own.
thats what i liked so much about skate.

we could go through pages of old stuff and mainly people want something like skate, and as far away from amped 3 as possible(where it automatically does it for you)

but yea, skate but ski style would be the sickest game ever

It would be sick to have the RS work the same way, so that you could do all kinds of nollie variations as well. Also, making the spinning axis less controlled, a la Amped 2, would be nice, so that you could spin basically on any axis.

Make it on the level of skate 2, same style, same idea, same level of reality.

Real gear, real pros, film shoot options, options for different tricks, grab packs, clothing, styles, and add in not only a freestyle option, but put in big mountain, if possible. And a butter control stick. lol.

I'm sure he knows SSX3 which in my opinion was pretty damn good, so if he combined SSX3s graphic beauty, and skate's realism and physics he would have a winner.

Skiing is also growing, and it is becoming more and more marketable. It recently passed snowboarding as the fastest growing winter sport, so now is the perfect time to start development.

Like skate controls. Left anolog for spins and flips. Right analog to do different grab combos. Hit B for grinds and R2 for afterbang.

For tricks/controls/enviornment, look at the snowboarding game: stoked, that game has solid stuff in those 3 factors.

Definitly need have a good park in it, a bit of backcountry and a solid career option in it.  Oh and also get lots of outerwear/ski companies in the game. 

For all those who havnt played stoked, to get sponsered you needed fame points and to gain fame points you had to do missions like trick or die which got pretty boring.  Anyways the point is that after gaining fame, random sponsers would come to you and you would have to do missions for them to get them.  You were allowed to have three companies (one for skiing, one for outerwear and one for goggles/accesories).  You could also mix and match them like for example i went with Quiksilver clothes, Burton Boards and Electric Goggles.  Having burton and quiksilver let me have access to both of their outerwear even though quiksilver clothing was in the outerwear slot.   I really liked this idea of the game since you had to actually earn your sponsers and would love to have it in a ski game. 

anyways thats my suggestion.

have real skiers and not just the famous ones have some lesser known guys like the traveling circus crew, compton, clownschool, etc....customizable everything - outerwear, gear, physique, etc......in career mode you could go two ways - putting together a movie segment or getting in the competition scene....freeride mode with tons of REAL mountains....possibly cities for urban?....realistic tricks....sponswords.....thats all i got for now

like skate for sure
anyone play stoked? if they had varried the challenges like skate and graphics and player customization like skate it woulda been huge.  We need a mix of skate (graphics, customization, challenges), stoked (bc, and weather feature), with some resorts and sick parks.

has anyone thought of controls for it though? skatish would be cool but prob really difficult to pull off

Don't make it arcady like Shaun white or amped.

Get ea black box to make it (the people who made skate)'

You need someway to market it to people outside of the community (people who never skatebored or snowboarded still buy those games)

IMO do a career more similar to an nhl/footbal game where its all about you starting off as a no one and then u can chose witch events to do throughout the season or witch photo shoots etc.

I have been addicted to the game stoked( I know its snowboarding but its a really good game)
1. Make the game like stoked
2. Add Parks and Urban to the game Stoked
3. Turn the Snowboard into Skis

THIS! EA MADE SKATE! they can just use the same physics engine with some alterations. Do it with the same format as skate also, like the freeroam with missions you can go to. also have own the spots and stuff like that. Just change skate to like whistler. :D

Another cool idea would be like being able to make your own jumps with a cat and do stuff outside of skiing like starting a company or and event where you build all the features and design the format!

if it were to happen it would have to be like SSX on tour, with half-skiing, half-snowboarding... and they'd still have to put the emphasis on boarding for it to be successful. a few hundred kids on NS would prefer a skiing version, but the general public still thinks snowboarding is way 'cooler'.

I'm gona say have it like tony hawk 2. Have it so you have to break high scores, do well in competitions. Have it from the eyes of an up and comming skiier. and im going to say, dont have a powder part, have park, and rails. have a level be all urban rails from a first person view, and if the cops come make the player run away from them. Dont use big pros except in multi-player levels, use smaller names of up and comming pros. Like a superunknown, we should have to try out for the game. o and have pratice levels to start out with, where you ride with your crew. Idk i prob just said a ton of stupid ideas, but it sounds cool. O and use songs that will make it extreme, not gangster. Yeah i used a ton of dumb ideas, and if u acctually get it, i wish u the best.

gonna have to disagree with the above poster. there should defs be a pow level or two, but with cliffs and booters (chads, pyramid, etc). or you could make three separate storylines- pow, park, and pipe
