Wow. Anyone else's mountain this full of shit?

Today we had 26 new inches, but they couldn't get the roads plowed in time.

On thursday and friday the park wasn't open because they, "Couldn't find time to groom it." AKA they're lazy pieces of and didn't want to.
Plus the fact that even though we opened in late November, (not exactly on time to begin with) we didn't have a park until early March. Not even joking.

Now I know I shouldn't be complaining because a lot of your seasons are already over, but really?
How can a struggling mountain afford to turn away customers like that?

What's wrong with just skiing the pow? 26 inches is a pretty amazing powder day. Instead of complaining about it, make the best of it.

well, i guess thats technically not true.
we had jumps up around february, but when i say jumps i really mean large humps of unshaped snow.
im pretty sure a handicapped monkey with a groomer could have made better ones.
but we just put our TWO rails up in early march.

And I would no doubt leave this place in the shitter, but the everywhere else (Stevens Pass, Hood, White Pass, Snoqualmie, ect.) is 3+ hours away. Which is not exactly worth it for a day trip.

Man that sucks dude. I can see where your coming from. Bristol opened late november and they didn't get a decent booter until early feburary. I wish every mountain could be as nice as keystone, breck, etc.

uh we can't ski it cuz the shitty mountain won't get the roads cleaned up, and of "avalanche danger." and as to the reason we don't ski anywhere else....we are stuck in this town for high school.  Bluewood, the shitty mountain, is 1 hour away while mount hood, spokane area resorts and white pass are all 4 hours away...so they basically have us in a monopoly.  it fucking sucks i get so frustrated.

surprisingly yes, the inbounds and tree skiing is decent for the amount of vertical. (1125 ft.)
the only issue is the lack of skiing itself, so everything is skied up within the first two or three hours of skiing.

reallY? you don't understand our situation.  i would gladly drive 3 hours every day. we have to drive 4 hours to go somewhere compared to 1 hour.  that's 8 hour round trip for 7 hours of skiing compared to 2 hour round trip.  the only way it can be done is if we have a place to stay every weekend in spokane or hood river or yakima...and we are working on that right now.

To me it sounds like you're a whiny bitch about your mountain. Let me see, you got a cheap season pass to a hill that is close to your house. You have park (better than some mountains). You got 26 inches of snow and you want to ski that park? Cry me a fucking river. Grow some balls and learn how to ski something besides groomed jumps and rails.

i have skied other places this year: Timberline, Big White, Schwietzer and several other local resorts have gotten my business this year.

and honestly, i really dont have that kind of money to throw around to travel many places.
i work 20-25 hours a week at minimum wage, plus go to high school 8 hours a day. im paying for my own car, gas, insurance, food, and all ski related expenses such as lift tickets and gear. (like the rest of the adult world, im not bitching about that.)
so moneys tight, i cant afford to drive everywhere and then spend 50 or so dollars on a lift ticket, plus some change on lodging and food.


MAIN POINT:
Anyone here in the Northwest want to hook me up with some free lodging/food, hit me up.

uh our entire mountain is closed. we our constantly reminded of the laziness and how nobody wants to do anything good for the mountain.  like chop trees and shrubs down on the mountain in the summer, put the two shitty rails up in the summer (so they get burried as soon as winter comes, also the other two got ran over with the cats), or even groom the runs.  nobody cares about this resort and its frustrating.   im not complaining at all about the great snow and great tree skiing we have.  and uh ya we never ski groomers jumps or rails because groomers are boring, jumps are shitty or closed, and rails are not there.

it CLEARLY states that they have 26 inches of new snow, but they are too fucking lazy to plow the roads so no one can get up there. kind of like you were too lazy to read the whole post.

now, I think you all are making a bigger deal out of this then need be. I don't know exactly where you are down in Washington, but you sound relatively close to me up here in Canada (Rossland).

When we have powder here it takes, on average, two days after the storm to groom the park. Sometimes three days. Our park didn't really take shape until about a week ago. Before then we had a rail line that was OK and a two jump line that was small. Our hill closes in a week, so this year we really only had our park going for a week or two.


but you know what? the skiing around these parts is pretty sweet, so when life gives you lemons, you say "FUCK LEMONS, I'M GOING SKIING".

we aren't really  complaining about the park man, just that nobody cares about taking care of our mountain, it is owned by an old man who is gonna die soon and nothing gets done each year. there is an extra lift that breaks down every other week for days, and they just don't care about the mountain.  we are stoked on the snow.  Big_Spence was just pissed they can't even clear the roads when we get new snow.

side note: They care so little about our mountain that they are not open on monday-wednesday over spring break because those are they days they are closed on a regular week. But they used to be open all spring break....like i said...progressively worse every year.

i see why that would suck, but really there are plenty of mountains with little or no park at all and people find a way to make it work, i drive about 2 hours every week to ski the weekend 3 hours sometimes depending on where im going, half the time tis only for one day, but really its not that bad at all, just find people to take and split gas. ive never thought of it as a hassle at all,  ill make day trips when i skip class and only be able to ski like 3 hours or so, but the 4 hour roundtrip drive is worth it.

if i were you, id ski at that shitty resort on week days, then drive the 3 hours to a better mountain on the weekends.  its not that bad.

you got a good reason to complain, but really if that resort sucks, thats their problem, take your business somehwhere else.

not actually that close at all unfortunately.
its around six hours to get to Rossland from here in Walla Walla, WA. and thats not counting border crossing, which in my experience can take as little as five minutes or as long as four hours. (dont bring vegetables into Canada kids!)

well....the hill that i grew up at was a landfill covered with dirt. the land hill was made into a resort when i was about 1 year old and therefore, not only was it full of shit, it was filled with shit from my diapers.

you seem to be excellent at posting about things you simply know nothing about.

there is only ONE road leading to the mountain.
it is technically a private drive owned by Bluewood. (the mountain)
and not only is it not plowed, they actually CLOSED it. therefore, plowed or not plowed, it is not legal for us to drive up and ski there.
not only that, if we were stupid enough to try and get up there to ski today, we would be hiking in 26" of new snow because the lifts will not be running.

but when they do plow ill make sure to have them push all the snow in your mouth so you wont be retarded enough to try and talk so much shit ever again.

OMG you pwned me like a n00b. I'll stop right after I say this. Yes, I did not know that the mountain owns the road but they didn't just decide to close the road because they were too lazy to plow. Them being open means that they are going to make money and if they close then obviously they make non. They probably closed the road for a very good reason (one of which I do not know). They wouldn't just close the road because they are too lazy to plow.
