DC ski boots, who would buy?

personally i think DC is sitting on a HUGE market here. they would be malking a line of basically different types of SPK looking boots im thinking.

anyways i was wondering if yu all think it would be possible to send a petition to Ken Block about maybe looking into skiing? i mean it is a company and there is a strong chance of a no, but DC seems really cool with everyone and they have a great attitude. also never seen someone hate on them before either.

if they carried the good ideas hey've in snowboarding off, and made them look as cool as  they do there snowboard boots then i'd definetly want some.

for a company with no ski background this would be a huge task, and cost lots of money they could use elsewhere im sure.

i think theyd look cool but id still stick with spk/krypton/scratch etc just cuz these companies do nothing but skiing and they would be best.

^^^dc could do something revolutionary because they come from outside the box it would't be too hard for them to think out of it. chances are though with them being owned by QS it'd just be some other companys boot with some skate shoe bits stuck on it. still good though.

DC is owned by the Quicksilver/Rossignol group

Qucksilver/Rossi use each of their sub brands (DC, Roxy, Dynastar) for certain target markets and products

So you might see a Rossi boot like that but never a DC, DC was created to be snowboard specific

not gunna happen, they just started making boards for next season so i dont see them making ski boots anytime soon, or until thier boards are a decent sucess. (they come out next season)

DC wouldnt do it. they are really focused on surfing and skating and snowboarding. thats what they do, they dont make ski stuff. plus most of there stuff is way over priced. i wouldnt pay alot of money for some probley not so good ski boots you know. chances are the boots would also be really bad, and too soft, and try to style and make it way too much like a snowboard boot or skate shoes.
overall i think it would be a bad idea if they made ski boots. and i would not buy them.

Only problem is that it costs more to research and develop a competitive ski boot than pretty much any other kind of footwear.

But they wouldn't have to build it from scratch. Like, 4FRNT didn't design a whole new binding, they just bought the design for one that was already made and made it in new colors.

All DC has to do is buy the patent/design of a proven boot (like how Dalbello got the 3 piece patent from the ruins of Raichle), or they could even just buy the original molds like Full Tilt did. Then they hand it to their design team and they fabricate an outer leather shell to cover the plastic and give it a little suede/skate-shoe flair, and poof: totally baller looking boot with great performance.

first of all boots are a thing that i don't care at all who makes them. (only salomon product i'd ever buy) if DC made boots that had some solid features for the skiing we do i'd definitely buy them. but i definitely don't think tehy will be making ski boots any time soon, they are already making tons of bank seeing as the average person who wants a "skate style" shoe will buy dc because it is known to the general public so well.

I don't think I would buy them, unless they are really special.... I prefer other, more experienced in the ski-world brand, such as Nordica or Salomon, but they might also be good, I'm not doubting DC
