We rockered skies this weekend

Well the way we did it was we got a heat gun and a ski pole and we heated the area where the pole was for 5 mins and then did it on the other side. Then we moved the ski pole down and repeated the process then we let it cool down... and it workerd and they stayed rockered here are some pics

looks like a terrible idea... why would you want to do that to a pair of skis? you won't be able to do anything on them and they'll snap in a second..

not on newschoolers..

bending a normal pair of skis back isn't like riding on a pair of rockered skis. all your doing is pretty much fucking your skis up.

its a good idea, and it looks fun, and i might try it. But the problem is that, when you heat your skis you will burn the base, and if you burn the base you cant wax it, therefore ruining your base, and you know it might, just maybe, heat the glue holding you skis together, but whatever, its not like thats important

No you dont heat the base keep the heat on the top sheet and your bases shouldnt mess up

Too all the people saying he shouldn't have done it, yes I agree it is pretty much ruining the skis but if it's an old pair of skis, why not do it. Last I checked there's no rockered skis with a waist under 120mm on the market. I did the same basic thing, had 2 of the best days skiing of my life, and no they didn't break after 2 days, the hills closed. They're still sitting on my shelf waiting for Momentum

yeah i don't think its really that big of a deal to "ruin" a pair of skis that are just sitting around collecting dust anyway. I like this technique, it seems like the most well thought out and easily repeatable. might give it a shot on my OG publics.

true dat but be careful because we kind of screwed up the tail on one of the skis. make sure the the skis stay completely together with the clamps and it might help if you have bindings on the skis

there's gonna be alot on the market soon, and are already. to name a few off the top of my head, reno jibs that are already out, praxis skinny that will come out soon, and on3p skis once they come out.

I haven't heard of any of those so I don't think I'd wanna put out 400-700 dollars on something that may not even last as long as doing it to a pair of skis that's next to garbage
