Frustrated with scratch fs mounting

i have been getting mixed opinions on where exactly to mount them
i kinda want "modern" because even that is 6.3 cm. back
though i'll probably mount "standard" (8.3 back) because i do tons of all-mountain
a friend who rides fujatives mounted for all-mountain told me they're fine for fakie and park skiing, though i think the fujative all-mountain point is farther forward
has anyone ridden either, or better, both?
btw, i'm 5'10" about 170
i race, and my rossi 9x are the same length as my '06 scratch's, so the skis are eerily similar
but i also used to skiboard, so i can handle center-mounting
help please!

By skiboard do you mean the 60cm snoblades? Those won't help ski center what so ever, it's like walking.
Either way, if you do a ton of all mtn, and do park, I'd personally go modern.
It really depends what your doing, if you know how to ski switch you can ski switch with any sort of tail length, it just becomes easier depending on how much tail ya got.
How would you say you split all mtn/park, % wise.. Why not just make your scratches mainly all park, and an old race ski for all mtn?

my scratches are for when i'm not racing
my racing skis keep getting messed up, so i don't want to completely make them useless
but good point
i do like 60% all-mountain
40% park
all the glades and powder i possibly can, lol

I would just go with reccomended. I don't really like too far back stance, I noticed a substancial difference in the feel of switch riding with just 1-2cm from reccomended on my TMs. Modern seems good, maybe go +1-2 off modern.
You could also just stand right on them kinda see how much tail you got standing at both points and see what feels more comfortable for you.
Obviously more forward = more park. Since you do glades I'd prolly go with as far forward as you feel you can without catch your tails too much

these are my first pair of twin-tips
so i'm a bit of a beginner at freestyle, but i'm really good otherwise
"standard" seems kinda far back

ur way off on saying that the al-mnt for the fujis is more forward. K2 mounting is sooooooooo far back wen mounted at suggested. if u want decent all-mnt/park just mount on the freeride or +2cm from the freeride line (thats wat i have) and it carves perfectly.

I'm 5'9 155 and I mounted my 174cm Scratches at standard and they are dank for anything. I personally think the modern mount and center mounting is pretty homo. Mount them at standard to work the whole mountain.

my scratches are mounted +4 from modern which would be -2 from core center i beleve. they rip everywhere.

to the original poster... what size ski did you get? 174? also, how do you say that your race ski and the FS is eerily similar... i havent skied rossi's race ski specifically, but i've skied other race skis, and they really ski nothing like a park ski, except maybe the karmas. that being said, if you are using it for mostly all mountain use, go +1 from the modern mount on that ski. they will still ski really well for an all mountain ski and you will still have plenty of tail for riding switch and it will make them a little more well balanced for park riding as well.

i got them in 167
same as my 9x
they are the same lenght(duh), and the mounting point is in the same point as the "standard"
so i want something a little different, whick i was thinking of mounting modern

does anyone know for sure how far forward from the modern line is true center? i'm getting mine mounted tomorrow hopefully. I have 174s, but i've been riding 167's for the past 2 seasons so this is a small step up. I was thinking -2 from center would be perfect for me. I'm 5'7" and I ride about 70% park

wayyyy too short. because that ski is a twin tip, it's going to ski like a 160 9x. the raised tail sacrafices running length. you need the 181's for sure.

mine are centered and 2 back are there really good all mtn, edge hold isnt great and its harding to set it, i would not go further back than -4cm.

+7 from modern is true center.
i had 168 scratches mounted at modern and they were fine, i had no problems riding or landing switch or balancing on rails. this year i picked up a pair in 174cm and i decided to mount them +5cm from modern(-2 from true center). this gave me nearly the same amount of tip and a whole lot more tail and i am so glad i decided to do this. riding and landing switch is even easier, switchups on rails became a lot easier and spinning off jumps is much more balanced. im no racer so my all mtn skills might not be on par with yours but i didnt feel as though i lost any all mtn performance.
i would either suggest that you do what i did and mount this set at modern and ride them for a season or so, then next season go up a size and mount them closer to center if you really get into freeriding or just mount these closer to center and after a few days youll be used to them. although i really think you need a longer ski as stated above me.

BUMP
final question: get longer lenght (not likely)
if not, mounting further forward on back would help with the sorta shortness?

stop using the term core center right now unless you are referring to a k2 ski. does anyone ask where the moderm mount is on a k2 or salomon ski? no, because its a marking specific to rossi skis, as core center is to k2 skis. there is no core center on other skis, just whatever is marked on the ski as the company's recommended mounting points, center, or any other centimeter measurement deviating from center. thanks.

i have my scratches at the modern and im kinda regretting it, its forward enough to lose some edging, but not forward enough to help that much with rails and spinning
All times are Eastern (-5)
