I want to like this film so bad, but I can't. The gratuitous shots of random pillow lines from helmet cams doesn't convey any type of progression what so ever. Also whats with the shitty quality vids that look like they were taken with a satellite phone. Idea should be sick pollard, andy and pep, but your commitment to making it so low key and core is just making it look gay and unprofessional.
Absolutely agree, they said that this film would be showing us their season from their point of view...not what any film or sponsor company says you get to see in the 58 minute final cut, not the 5 urban rail, 10 trick segments that most ski movies are devided into...this is Eric, Andy, and Pep just out skiing, pure and simple.
well... we also haven't seen many of the shots of them from the other filmers yet, so hold your horses. Also, the videos were hosted on youtube, i think you can expect slightly better quality out of a DVD.
idea will be unlike any ski movie made in the past, i think it will have a lot of commentary (which i think will be good) and some really chill music since chris stolz is doing the soundtrack. besides its pep, pollard, and mahre taking u through what a real season is like for pro skiers, i really dont think there has been another film made like this where u get to see day to day what its like for pro skiers, all we see in movies are the very best shots of skiers in perfect terrain parks or perfect powder. I personally am really interested to get a glimpse of what its like to be a skier like pep or pollard.
I actually am a lot more excited about this movie than i would be for any msp, pbp, or level 1 movie because pollard is by far my favorite pro skier and pep is like way up there too.
The shitty quality can be attributed to the Youtube video hosting, not the quality of the cameras themselves... just be patient, it obviously won't be the same in the actual DVD release. Use your head for a second.
Ya there is no way a legit company would let a youtube quality vid go out on DVD.
I hope this inspires park rats to get out and go experence real skiing.
i think that this movie will change skiing forever. people will start to have more fun skiing instead of constantly trying to go pro. although being pro would be rad...
helmet cam is must. if its not incorporated im going to be seriously pissed.
however i think you guys are just misunderstanding iberg, i think his response was just trying to counteract the idiot that created this thread's thought that the IDEA would be the same quality as a youtube vid
do you all even know who iberg is? seen any of his other works? you think he would put his name on some half assed shit? im not kissing his ass, i just like what he does.
