Skis: Lately, every year. Or a couple times per year as is the case right now.
Boots: This is my 6th season in them. Thinking about get a surefoot foam liner or a booster strap to help the fit, but I'm pretty happy with them right now.
Outerwear: Every couple of years. I'll definitely need new pants next year but my Oakley Radiator Jacket is still holding up really well in its 4th season.

Every year to every two years... I spend way too much though... I always get tempted by new stuff, so I end up buying it.

whenever things break or wear out is a good general rule.
boots: the industry says they last 50-100 days but i am on year 4 with the same boots, all seasons were 65+ days on the same boots. they are definately worn out tho and i will need new ones next year.
skis: look for deals, and dont feel guilty about having two pairs of skis you can always use one for urbans or if you unexpectedly break stuff then you dont have to find somehting in a rush.
outerwear: 3 seasons, 65+ days per season and i had to get new stuff.

Skis are a yearly thing. I buy over the summer, much better prices.
Boots I try to get 2 years out of.
Outerwear: I have so much already I can make a new outfit for every day of the year..
All times are Eastern (-5)
