They should make a ski game that has realistic physics with every type of spin variation possible, (rodeo's flats, misty's, bio's, corks,... etc....).
And also have it completely free roam in between mountains. Be able to purchase a house, cars, sleds, real ski gear, clothing, everything.
You should be able to go do urban as someone said in the freeride game thread, and be able to build a kicker to any object however you want wherever you want. Have cops and such too, crazy old people and harsh security guards.
Same with backcountry, you should be able to take off your skis and carry them. And also ride your sled and explore the back country. Find hidden big lines. And ALSO have a "kicker building editor". Basically the same thing as the urban thing. You should be able to fly to other cities and big name mountains (which should be modeled after the real mountain.) Have real name pro riders, join crews, enter comps (big air, slopestyle, rail jams).
Also, there should be lots of animation of other pedestrian skiers and boarders on whichever mountain you are at.
Be able to have full ski customization, where you want to mount bindings and that sort. Have each ski have real butter points and stuff.
Hmmm what else.... oh. Have jobs and stuff, like you can be a local ski instructor, a liftee to get your wage, or a groomer (if you have a groomer job, you should be able to be a park designer too. And if you make good parks everyone likes, you keep your job and get bonuses.$$$)
Oh and have a little story line, but more of a free roam story. You move to the mountains from who knows where, you're a no name, and start off as a ski bum being a local liftee or whatever at a "home mountain." Build your way up, save money to travel to contests and pay for entry fees.
Pick up sponcers, go to photo shoots like in amped.
Have everything. They should be able to make a game with all those features on the next generation consoles too. Like aren't those blue ray disks 40gb or something? Like think of the possiblitys for games. They could make them so ridicuously large and indepth easily. They have so much more resources now to do so.
A video game company should do it. It'd be like, what tony hawks pro skater did for skateboarding, but for skiing.
That's what I think. It'd be awesome. Everyone would buy it just because it would be so in depth and have so much customization. It'd kick every other extreme sports game ass by far. They should do it. Someone just has to convince a really good, high production video game company to do it.
