Progression in 4 or 5 Years...

I was watching ski movie 2 and 3 the past couple of days and it amazes me how much skiing has changed in such a short period of time. It has morphed so ridicuously, from clothing, to style, to types of tricks.
In the ski movies it's like all mistys and rodeos and backflips. It's crazy. And what they're wearing looks funny due to this day and age.
Also it amazed me how in ski movie 3, how much ahead tanner hall was of everybody in terms of style, and even what he wore. His segy in ski movie 3, he's the only guy it seems, that wears fairly baggy clothing.
This just amazed me how it was really only like in 2001 (i think) that ski movie 3 came out.
I also wonder what it's going to be like in 4 years from now.

I think because freestyle is so popular now the technicality of the tricks will become pretty crazy as more and more people get good at it.

well five years ago you could almost be a pro if you coul throw down 7's rodeos and backies, now every 12 year old kid can do that, its crazy.

ever since skiers figured out that grabbing your ski was fun we've been around 3 years behind snowboarding as far as sport progression goes - and that is where we still remain.
there will be some new tricks on rails, but they will probably be from inline so will most likely look kinda stupid, but it would be nice to get some solid pressing on rails (like how about a lipslide a nosepress 270 out or switch on tailpress backside switch up nosepress pretzel 270 out...
and as for jumps - skiers need to make better use of natural transitions, not just a cliff or a kicker, but do like spine to spine gaps with a cork 5 and shit.

I honestly think i footed jibs are going to come into play eventually, they look stupid now but because they are out of control, when we master then I think they will be pretty steezy, and super tech.
Plus alot more pressing and maybe some wierd jibs from skating and all, but those will be more of a fad I predict.
That guy above me nailed it.. Ski movies are still just building jumps and langing on a slope. I watched a new snowboard movie and it was almost all just using natural features and playing on the mountian.. and it was really sick.
An off the wall idea would be like a rewind: 360 then 180 unnatural or something. Seems ridiculous but so did a switch 1440 with style eh?

how could you say that a switch 1440 has style? yea, he grabbed his ski for a part of the trick, but grabbing doesn't mean it's style, just as no grab doesn't mean huck.
style is more then getting a postion, it's holding said position, or tweaking it.
I mean, if an arials dude grabs his ski for a quick moment while doing his full - double full - full did he just do it with style?
i'm not saying the switch 1440 is bad. i think in a sport that's based on progression seeing how far you can push the limits of what's possible is very important to the groth of the sport, without the bigger, we'd all get bored of the better.
