An indoor Ski slope finally is coming to the states - Just outside of New York City. I heard about it and now it looks to be a reality.

yeah i read something on that a while ago. they were supposed to open in 2007 then couldnt get the funding. website says 2008 they should be opened. but from that pic it doesnt look like theyre getting much done

Imissed your post then or maybe not. anyhow........ I just went to the xanadu website for the first time. The webcam shot which looks like it is from today is what got me stoked. it looks like the cranes are halted due to rain today, but that is definitly concrete I see being poured.

Indoor slopes tend to be expensive as they cost so much to power all the air con. Get in there quick and get a job for free skiing!!! Its what everyone in the UK does.

yup i live like 20 min away...i spoke to one guy thats working on the project and he said his boss told him that they will have 3 lanes...a park lane, an expert lane, and a beginners lane. i assume the begginers will just be not as steep as the experts. but yeah its gunna have everythin... mall, movies,arcades,restaraunts,ice rinks, small amusent park...im psyched

dude they are so gay. i resaeached them during my Japan unit in grade 7 at school. K its skiing skiing the bunny hill except the ground is a lil gayer. There is no different terrain and no jumps for sure. It mmight be great for those work aholics in new York that have never skied on a real hill but whatever.

well in about 1 hour ill be going to my local indoor 'snowdome' in glasgow, £35 for 4 hours($70ish) on freestyle night, 2 kickers, 8 rails inc rainbows upflatdown box, etc. pretty good night out really!
