Ski colleges for me

Hey guys, Im a senir in high school and are looking for colleges really close to mountains, East or West. My GPA is 3.1 but my Sat's are really bad, Math-580, Verbal 420, Writing 470. What are some colleges that are really good ski bum schools that i could get into. THanks

my school (LSC) real close to burke close to jay. Kinda small but good if you like drinking. Plus u would have no problems getting in. But if i were u I would go out West still wish I had. Take a year off and just ski.

u must be retarded. those arent bad SAT scores. those are pretty legit. if u go in vt u should check out UVM and champlain. theyre both really legit and u get sweet ski package deals n shit. they both have ski clubs too.

st michaels in vt near burlington. 25$ season pass to smuggs, and a sick outdoors program that does whitewater and sea kayaking, rock and ice climbing, and a few hikes every weekend.
the only thing i don't like is the religion class requirement.

go to any college in vancouver get a whistler pass for mad cheap and its close plus you got 3 north van ski spots

how bout ski colleges for me?

Math- 690
Writing- 690
Reading- 590

Im interested in physics, engineering, and meteorology.

I want to go to Utah, and u of u has all those subjects, but im not sure about it cuz its commuter campus and im not sure if the academci level is high enough.

Im lookin at RPI and clarkson right now. are those any good for skiing?

colorado school of mines, that is where i am probably going. It is in Golden and really good for engineering, i think logchucker goes there.

University of Montana, sick town, 15 minutes from snowbowl which can be way sick, 45 minutes from lolo pass for backcountry which gets a ridiculous amount of snow, 2.5 hours from Big MTN.

move to Nelson BC. Close to Red/Whitewater and epic backcountry access. Im not so sure how good this school is but you for sure could do your general elective classes there.

i know this is goig to piss off ppl at uvm (wich is a sick school) so dont take offence to this but honistly if you r goig to schol to ski and or ride plymouth sate ia the closest to the mnt on the east coast it is 25 - 30 min away from loon and watervill 35 from the cannones but uvm is about an hr from the closest mnt from what i know (chanplain is the same) but if u r goin just to go sking go o pluymouth but uvm is a better and harder school to get into i dont know much about west coast but for east coast its psu or uvm.

well if u dont have amazing SATs, just remember they look at all of u.and it does make a difference, but honestly if everything else is amazing, then they definitely look atyou as a whole student. .

Middlebury is really hard to get into and Middlebury Snow Bowl is not closed to the public last time i checked anybody could ski there.

yeah...middleburys a gorgeous campus but only 1/4 acceptance rate. and really secluded. the snowbowls legit tho.

for anyone whos definitely staying east because of the lack of good schools near skiing in the west, uvm is gonna have the sickest campus ever when the construction is done in 1.5 years. Burlington is sick, UVM(or champlain or st mikes of course) is one of the only decent schools in a cool town with 10+ options for skiing within 2.5 hours(in semi order of distance ..bolton, smuggs, sugarbush, stowe, jay, killy, okemo, loon, waterville, whaleback, etc....)

I went to CU to go skiing, and definitely never skied more than 50 days in one year, but the quality was tits considering I rode vail and a-basin all the time. School of mines in golden blows, everyone I have met who went to school there is depressed....there are no chicks, and it saves you like 20 minutes compared to boulder. Univ of Utah is where it’s at I hear, and the fact you get to ride Alta and snowbird is worth it over keystone and vail, unless you’re a park rat. Wasted State (western)...while close to crested, you might as well go to a community college. And Clarkson and RPI are terrible schools for skiing; they are both 2+ hrs from any decent skiing. Montana State in Bozeman is supposedly sick, a decent school, and your like 20 minutes from Bridger bowl, and an hour from big sky. If I could do it all over again I prob would go to MSU. Just my retrospective on the whole go to college for skiing thing…

Let's face it, a bachelors degree is a bachelors degree. Western is absolutely not a community college, it is a State College just like CU and CSU. It is also really good place to go to school, a true mountain community, and 25 minutes from the best skiing in Colorado. Yes it does have the Wasted State image, but what college does'nt. Western is currently building a $3 million new business department. I could not have went to school anywhere else, Boulder drives me nuts and to go to summit county you are going to spend 6 hours in traffic, Fort Collins is way to far from any good resorts, and yes school of mines is a really good engineering school, but the atmosphere sucks.
For the best Legitimate ski college with truly great skiing, i would go with Western or Utah.

Either Western State in CO or Sierra nevada College in Tahoe...
that way at least you are near good skiing, unlike the eastern schools

Not all skiing in the east sucks. I go out west every year and most years i will have better powder days at Jay then out west.

sure buddy, I know Jay is the standard out there for pow, but lets be serious...
Kirkwood got over 800 inches up top last year, how many did jay get?

obvisouly the skiing out west overall is way better then the east, im not arguing that. The season is longer, the mountains are bigger, most places get more snow, and there is less rain. Im just saying there is some really good skiing in the east. Its not all ice and groomers.

Yeah thats about double what Jay got but thats 300 inches over their average. I remember 3 or 4 years ago Jay had over 600 inches.

i'm a senior this year and some of the schools I've already started to apply to are university of colorado @boulder and university of denver. i'm also looking at a few schools in vermont. the only thing with colorado at boulder is I heard it's hard as hell to get into if you're out of state...which I am
