07 urban triplets

All I know is what I've read online, but they look/sound sick. They use sandwich construction and are symetrical like the invaders. the SIA 2006 thing in resources has some pics of them.

uhhh i think they were always all made in the same factory in austria, and atmoic still makes cap consruction race skis, so they could do them on those presses anyways. but they are really dope sounding symmetrical flex and sidecut designed around a true center mouting point. and plus thier team is sickter this year with cedric tremblay-fournier holding it down.

who wants to go in on 2 pairs with me???

I dunno I too have heard that they moved to the snowboard factory to make the triplets, they are probably trying to seperate their race skis and freestyle skis cuz rex seems to have some sick ideas for the freestyle stuff.

Ok so far I havn't heard ANYONE say they have actually skied the '07 Triplet Urban am I correct in assuming this? I read the thread pretty well so I am pretty sure.

That being said I feel it my public duty to the NS community as one of the only people on here aparently who have actually skied them to say the following:

WORST SKI EVER MADE

I am an expert skier and these are so floppy and misconstructed that I couldn't safely manuver them from the lift to the main park at Mammoth and as many of you know that is a 150 yards of blue groomer. I checked the tune and it seemed alright but the ski just doesn't ski at all. My demo partner at the show (skimack) watched me almost kill myself trying to set an edge and he refused to switch off skis with me to confirm my experience he was as afraid of them as I. The only ski that comes even close to as bad is the Libtech NAS.

I review twin tip skis for my job. I am not some racer making fun of soft skis, I like the Invaders for gods sakes. The Triplets Urban that are sold in stores in the fall better not be the same ski I tested at On Snow last spring or Atomic might as well never make a twin again.

ok so uve skied them and they are really soft? so they have completly changed them then. i believe you but i cant picture the urban triplets as a soft ski.

I skied with a bunch of guys that were riding them this year, and altho it would be kind of biased cause they are all sponsored, i know them and they all said they were pretty dope. These guys rode pretty hard and all their edges were still intact after several urban sessions on them, ledges and shit.

They also look fucking dope and are pretty light. I wanna try them out as they had nothing but good shit to say about them.

yeah the core that they use on thier beta skis is called densolite, but the use wood on all thier sandwich race and big moutain skis, and now the triplets too.

beta is in fact better then sandwiches for pretty much any kind of skis since it makes a better torsionnal stiffness pattern then wood. the problem i see is that it is not as good on park skis as it is supposed to be since we are dealing with high impact on hard surfaces such as metal so the core get beaten up a bit faster then on sandwiches skis.

anyway, I skied the ski in different sizes 175-and 184 and seriously, I didnt have any trouble setting my edges and or making turns with them, I skid both CO powder and QC ice with my triplets and they hold up real fine on both snow condition.

I've been skiing since i've statrted walking so i do know how to make my skis turn so please dont concider me as a park rat that dosnt know how to carve.

The first time I skied the UT's they felt kinda weird cause it's a real twintip with a 27 or 24 meter sidecut wich is kinda big for a park skis but ok when you get use to it. On my first day on them, I didnt want to jump since i had both my shins bruised froom a rail accident so i just made crazy long carves maching down the parks and run in vail and they definatly felt like a good ski once i found my balance. So the ski is surely not the worst twein tip ever made .

As far as you saying the ski sucks and that (if you are the guy i think you are) it's way to soft, then you prolly didnt ski the ski i skied this year cause if you try flexing the ski like it would flex when you ski, then you can clearly see that it''s real stiff underfoot, the flinge point may make the ski look really soft at first but they are only softer on the zone where you do butters and stuffs like that. So yea if your not used to ski a real twin tip with the same flex pattern and sidecut on both end of the skis, it might feels wierd at first but saying the ski is the worst ski ever and that the flex is too soft (especially when all teh team riders said it was too stiff at first and asked the m to be softenened up for the next batch) sounds a bit too much to me.

By the way I enjoyed riding my UT's this year and never broke an edge in the whole season, wich is a first for me.
