I have put quite a bit of time into this so I hope someone gets help from it.
-Getting pictures off the internet-
-Introduction-
If you see a cool image that is on the internet (from a google search or another website) you can easily take that picture and post it on here.
-For Internet Explorer Users-
-Step 1-
Right clik the image and select 'Properties'
-Step 2-
At the properties menu, highlight and copy the URL.
-Step 3-
Paste the URL into a message
-Step 4-
Surround the URL using image tags
Ex.
[*img]ttp://img262.imageshack.us/img262/8770/properties2ei.png[/img*]
NOTE- I inserted the *s so the image wasnt displayed, when you do it do not use the *s.
Now, when you post the message, the image will be displayed.
-For Firefox-
-Step 1-
Rightclick the image and select 'Copy image location- this automaticly copies the URL so you can simply paste it as shown in step 4 of the Internet Explorer guide.
-Hosting a Picture From Your Computer-
Note-This is the same for both IE and Firefox users.
So you have that picture off of your digital camera and you want to put it on Newschoolers for everyone to see. There is the option to upload it using Newschoolers but if the image is too big or you want to post it onatoer site yo can follow these steps.
-Step 1-
Open the picture using paint or another program that will open pictures.
-Step 2-
Edit the picture in any way you want, resizing it or adding text can be done easily using paint.
-Step 3-
Save the image as a PNG file, PNG pictures have a greater quality than IMG pictures.
-Step 4-
Go to www.imageshack.us
It is one of the best hosting sites for pictures because you can upload big pictures with good quality.
-Step 5-
Click browse and locate the file on your computer, your best bet is looking in 'My Pictures' Then double click the picture.
-Step 6-
Click host and wait for the picture to upload.
-Step 7- At this point you are at a screen with many different options to use. Ususally when it is a big picture you will have to deal with a thumbnail, so dont bother selecting any of the things they give you. Simply click the thumbnail and get the URL from the image that clicking the URL brings you to. (refer to the guide above for info on getting the url and posting it)
Sorry for any spelling mistakes or other errors and I am crosing my fingers hoping this post comes up ok.
