I am interested in a clear explanation to a few of these. Like what's the real difference between a Lincoln 5, Flat 5, Rodeo 5, Overflip 5, and a Dinner Roll... Whats the difference between switch and cab?

It seems like a lot of these are the same thing and people argue about which one it is... Does a switch cork become bio or vice versa because of the lead etc.

What do you call it?

no such thing as a lincoln five. just a lincoln. which is side flip. flat spins are spins over your ass, and i don't know how to describe rodeos or overflips and forget dinner rolls. take it from here people.

ill explain waht im pretty sure of.

lincon 5- side flip with a 180 thrown in, you would land switch if you took off foward.

switch/cab- for skiers they mean the exact same thing. on a snowboard it means taking off switch and spinng backside

lincoln 5 doesnt exsist
rodeo 5 is a lincoln 180
flat 5 is an uninverted rodeo 5
over flip 5 is a 90 uphill, lincoln downhill, and 90 to switch.
cork is an off axis spin
bio is a cork but forward
misty is a fronflip with 180 or 360
cab=switch=fakie=skiing backwards

anything else?

If its a side flip with a 180 thrown in its just a lincoln 180 not a 5. you can't suddenly take a 180 out of your ass and call it a fucking 540

youre not doing a front flip or back flip in either of the tricks.

underflip: 90, lincoln uphill, 90
overflip: 90, lincoln downhill, 90

you sure a rodeo 5 is a lincoln 180...i know people who throw lincoln 180s and it looks nothing like a rodeo

Yes, i am. If you threw a pefect lincoln, it wouldnt be. But a rodeo is a lincoln 180, just not on the exact axis of a lincoln. So technacly you could o a lincoln 180, ive never seen it.

Yeah ok i know what you mean, I just have a different idea of what a lincoln is and isn't. A few more.

Nollie- Pop off the front end of ur skis
Lipside- When your tails go over the rail first when you hop on from one side or another
Broken- When you drag your back foot when sliding a rail
Backslide- Lift your front foot up
Fastslide- Lift your back foot up
Blindside Switchup- 180 spin on rail, spinning uphill or away from the end of the rail
Revert/Pretzel-When you spin off in the opposite direction than you spin on
Disaster-Clear 1 or more kinks
Tail/Nosepress- I don't think i need to explain this one

congrats, you get a cookie, but there is not a front flip in either an underflip or overflip. to be honest though, it really isn't that big of a deal.

Butter 270 on- Press on ur tips or tails (normally whatever is ahead), do a 180 (still pressin) and pop (still pressin)
UFO- Don't see these much, still done once in a while, its when you bend both your knees so they touch, and slide on ur inside edges
Unity- I've only seen one dude at Tremblant do these, while your riding to the box, lift one ski up and put it over your other ski, hop on box, slide with feet cross, get off landing on one foot, uncross skis and ride away...

I dont think the Wilson Flip I saw was a Dspin to back. I replayed it about 20 times in slow mo and it looks to me like a 90-sideback-90(lincoln 180) to 90-sideback-90(lincoln 180). He did 2 flips at the mid point he was backwards and on the landing he was forward. In what I saw he did no D-spin.

I am not sure how Rodeo works but if you read about it anywhere, they are saying it was a rodeo 5 to lincoln 90. I am saying that he did the same trick in both flips.

the best way to explain it.... A flat spin is going slightly off axis, hucking back wards, whereas a cork would be throwing forwards.

RODEO
rodeo is liek a flat spin but more inverted, on a dif axis.. in between a flat and a backflip

Lincon is a sideflip

Cork is off oxis spinning forwards

i have no clue what bio is

Misty is a very cork spin

switch is riding backwards

i dunno what under or over flip is

dont listen to them, wilson flip is double underflip 10, so underflip 5, to sw underflip 5 in one air.

Rodeos arent lincoln 180s either(thought they can accidently turn into them), considering that would be an on axis trick, you just gotta watch movies of rodeos

one thing to add because i was reading through some people's descriptions of tricks and they didn't seem to get it - when you are flipping you add that rotation to the lateral spin. somebody said a lincoln with a 180 is just a lincoln 180, which is wrong - it's a lincoln 5 which, as it's been said, is really an underflip.

flatspin is where u spin on ur back for part of the time
underflip is a frontflip 180 or a 90 to lincoln to 90
and misty is a inverted bio
d-spin is a inverted cork

not true...mistys and rodeos are not inverted

i cant remember who it was, but their description of a misty was perfect: its like rolling over a picnic table...the entire time you stay horizontal
rodeo is pretty much the same, except thrown backward (as a misty is thrown forward)
