I'm in my marketing class and were doin a project where we have to sell products....of couse im selling skis and so what are benefits of having a softer ski? and what are the benefits of having a stiffer ski? thanks
Dude, you have over 4,000 posts on here and you are asking what the difference is between soft skis and stiff skis?
So do you actually ski or just post stupid crap on the internet?
Go buy a SKI or SKIING Magazine buyers guide, seriously. They answer this question every year.
are you kidding me? what you want a 2x4 under your feet when jumping? fuck NO, you want a soft flexible ski to help cusion the blow. you want the stiff skis for racing and speed
^obviosly that's true, but when marketing a ski, companies will usually just say it's a good park ski or pow ski or all-mountain ski without making specific mention of the stiffness. even when the stiffness is mentioned, its usually just a part of the specs, and not really part of the "marketing"
companies market skis with sponsored atheltes, competitions, movie segments, magazine ads, etc. not by saying how stiff their ski is.
no no no, i already know what the difference is, im not that fucking stupid, but i need ideas for like if i was selling this ski to anyone what other benefits there are.......if that makes sense
a soft ski is more for park. It helps butters, ollies and boosting outta the pipe mostly. Stiffer skis are better for BC and pow. You get more control of the ski
a softer ski is better for less agressive skiers, for begginer to intermidiate skiers they are more forgiving and easier to ski due to the fact that it easier to initiate a turn with less effort. the down fall to a soft ski is that they chatter the are unstable and they have very little responsiveness. A stiff ski is for more agressive skiers they are better at faster speeds have better edge hold more pop and responsiveness more life. the down fall to a stiff ski is that it takes more energy to intiate a turn and are less forgiving. thats a nice short response to your question for better info msg hsfcpro he is a ski designer
for sure. you have way less control over soft skis. stiffer skis are better for ollies too, cuz the easier a ski flexes the less rebound or "pop" it will have. stiffer tails will work way better for ollies as long as you arent a pussy that cant flex his skis.
Actually...You are not completely correct dude. A soft ski will not be as good for jumping in most situations. If you land backseat on a soft ski, the tail is just gonna flex and do nothing, on a stiffer ski, the tail will help save your landing. Stiff skis are definitely more stable on landing. I bet those Olympic long jump skier dudes have really stiff skis.
